A cat knapper is paid anything between £37 to £52 by a restaurateur per animal, depending on its size.In January a lorry with three tonnes of cats crammed into bamboo cages stacked one on top of another was seized by police on its way to Hanoi from China.

The restaurant's most popular dishes are cat meat hot pot, on sale for around £40 pounds and feeds seven – a huge sum in rural Vietnam. Cat meat noodles are £3 pounds a bowl.

Deadly disease hits Ondo, residents wake up blind, die within a few hours

Residents of Irele township in Ondo state have been hit by a deadly diseases. According to reports, the victims wake up blind, with a terrible headache and die within a few hours. At least 15 people who contracted the disease are feared dead.

Ondo state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, said the disease was discovered yesterday but didn't say how the victims contracted the disease or how it can be passed on to others.

 Hopefully, the Minister of Health will tell us what's happening.

It's funny how the same reason why people are getting killed is her excuse she used under my post.I had to put her on blast because she clearly has the mentality of the people who are killing others in S.A as I type.

Incase u didn't know miss thang let me school u,don't let the glitz and glam fool u,I am very much an African who was raised in an African country not as developed as S.A.

I moved to America in Dec 2006 for college and yes I do reside in America & I am a naturalized citizen of America from the day I came here but I am still an African Queen,I don't have to be a South African citizen or live in South Africa to be worried about what's happening there.

My mom who is a UN worker works in that country every now and then,my brother lived there for years and guess what,these people losing their lives could have been my direct family members but because they aren't doesn't mean I can't speak of the issues happening in my continent,don't think because u live in Africa makes u more of an African than I am or will ever be.

l studied enough about SA history when I took African history classes,I probably know more about sA than ur dumb ass.

I travel to African countries for work and charity purposes (something u might not know about because u could never do it in other countries because it's not SA) I hope u raise your kids to think better and be better individuals.

A jilted girl identified as Egoli (surname withheld) in Asaba Community Delta State has allegedly committed suicide three years after she introduced her fiancé to her parents.According to Leadershipng, the incident, which occurred on Monday, swept through the community when the news of her death hit the area.

It was gathered that Ego, as she is fondly called, allegedly committed suicide when it became clear to her that her fiancé had wedded another girl in Lagos.Police public relations officer in the State, DSP Celestina kalu who confirmed the incident , said the girl, a graduate of economics from the university of Benin, had been waiting for her man since three years in Asaba.

She said that the girl was found dead in her room the following day after she and her parents had retired to sleep, with particles of drugs found on her. Her corpse has been sent for autopsy.

Family members who spoke to their correspondent, one of them, Mrs. Mabel Egbeide, said she had complained bitterly about the story of the fiancé marrying another girl in Lagos but her fears were dismissed before she took her life.

Sources said Ego's fiancé, a Lagos based businessman, was relieved of his job in Lagos after he had carried out introduction of the girl before her parents and returned to Lagos where he had stayed all these while before allegedly taking another girl for a wife

Election riggers deserve death sentence - Prof. Tam David West. .

Former Minister of Petroleum resources, Prof Tam David-West says anyone caught involving in election rigging deserves to be sentenced to death.

Speaking in Port harcourt, Rivers state to Punch over the contentious Saturday governorship election in the state, David-West said election riggers are worse than armed robbers and that sentencing them to death when apprehended is the only way Nigeria can have peaceful, free and fair elections


"I have said that election riggers should get death sentence. Rigging election is worse that armed robbery.

If an armed robber can be sentenced to death, election riggers must face similar punishment. That is the only way we can have peaceful, free and fair election in this country. It (election) was a sham.

From all I heard, in Buguma, Asari-Toru, there was no election as a result of sporadic shooting in the area. Surprisingly, INEC released a result.

It is wrong for anyone to say that the conducted election is good. Is that some people see the death as goodness?

If an election is fraught with violence and other forms of malpractices, if it is not corrected, it would stain the performance of INEC.” - he said

Court okays release of Obasanjo’s book, My Watch.

An Abuja High Court today ordered the release of former President Obansanjo's controversial book 'My Watch', which had been in the custody of the Nigerian Customs Service since 2014 following a N20billion libel lawsuit by PDP chieftain, Buruji Kashamu, asking the court to stop the distribution of the book because of some things Obasanjo wrote about him in the book.

In the book, Obasanjo described Buruji as a fugitive wanted in the US.

 A court, last year, ordered security and law enforcement agencies including ‎customs to confiscate the book anywhere they saw the book.

But following Obasanjo's appeal at the Federal High Court, Abuja, he can now distribute it.

 According to a report by Vanguard,
The judge set aside the order of injunction on Monday upon an application by Obasanjo’s lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN).

‎In doing so, the court barred the Nigerian Customs Service from collecting demurrage on the books for the period they had been in its custody.

The court upheld Agabi’s argument that the applicant, a Peoples Democratic Party chief in Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, who is currently pursuing a N20bn libel suit against Obasanjo in the same court, suppressed vital facts to obtain the order.

Imo governorship rerun election to hold April 25th

The Imo state governorship rerun election has been fixed for April 25th.

INEC had on Sunday April 12th declared the election between APC candidate, incumbent governor Rochas Okorocha and PDP candidate, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps, inconclusive following some electoral irregularities. The rerun election will take place in 256 polling units.
