In many countries, election period is usually filled with lots of propaganda and tension. Nigeria is no exception. We have read and seen pictures of dead people or those injured during election campaign.

That's why I'm advocating for a peacefull election. Vote in peace bearing in mind that violence has dire consequences.Effects of violence


1. DeathWithout doubt, violence results in loss of life and serious injuries, which might leave you handicapped.

2. Loss of propertyCriminals get the opportunity to loot because no one will sue them for theft.

3. RapeSome people take advantage of women and rape them. They know that no one will punish them for breaking the law. The victim might be your mother, sister, wife, daughter, cousin, friend or neighbour.

 4. Economic recession or downfallInvestors will flee and no one will want to invest in an insecure country for fear of loss of their money.

5. Interference with educationChildren will not go to school when there is violence.

6. Loss of jobsIf some companies shut down due to violence, they will have to sack their employees.


7. Emergency of militia groupsWhen there is no government, or the government is not stable, there is a possibility of individuals who are hungry for power or those who want to protect their territory/people emerging. These groups are a threat to society and people suffer in their hands.

8. Famine/hungerDuring violence, people flee for their lives.

There is usually no one to farm so even after the violence is over, sometimes there is lack of food.In addition, during violence there is scarcity of food and water. People die due to hunger.How to prevent violence

1. Talk to your family members, especially the male.

 If you know they are likely to engage in violence, plead with them not to

BREAKING NEWS : THE CO - PILOT OF THE DOOMED GERMANWING IS SAID TO DELIBERATELY CRASHED THE PLANE .....

Breaking news! Germanwing co-pilot deliberately crashed the plane.

According to breaking news report, the co-pilot of the doomed Germanwing flight deliberately crashed the plane on March 24th, this is according the chief investigator who just held a press conference explaining what happened.

The prosecutor said the Chief pilot asked the co-pilot to take over the controls of the plane so he could go ease himself. While alone, the co-pilot locked the door and deliberately manipulated the flight monitoring controls to accelerate the descent of the flight.

 He refused to open the door of the cockpit to the pilot when he returned and began knocking frantically on the cockpit door. The co-pilot used a button to cause the plane to lose altitude and crash. He never spoke a word during the last 10mins before the plane crashed and didn't respond to air traffic control.

The prosecutor said there was no indication that the co-pilot was unwell. He has been identified as 28 year old Andreas Lubitz from Germany. He is not known to have any links to terrorism or extremists.

The prosecutor said screams from passengers could be heard on the recording in the final seconds. He said they all knew what was about to happen in the last moments and that all 150 souls died instantly.

ONE OF THE PILOTS OF GERMAN WINGS FLIGHT WAS LOCKED OUT OF COCKKPIT BEFORE THE CRASH.....

One of the pilots of Germanwings flight was locked out of cockpit before crash.

According new reports based on evidence gathered so far by crash investigators, one of the two pilots flying the ill-fated Germanwings flight was locked out of the cockpit before the aircraft crashed into a remote region of the French Alps on Tuesday March 24th. Investigators said evidence taken from the cockpit voice recorder indicated that one pilot desperately tried to smash down the cockpit door after first knocking lightly on the door and not getting an answer.

This indicates that just one of the two pilots on board was flying the plane - and that the second one became panicked after he was unable to get back into the cockpit. Read full story after the cut...

A senior French military official involved in the investigation described a “very smooth, very cool” conversation between the pilots during the early part of the flight from Barcelona, Spain, to Düsseldorf, Germany. Then the audio indicated that one of the pilots left the cockpit and could not re-enter.

“The guy outside is knocking lightly on the door, and there is no answer,” the investigator said. “And then he hits the door stronger, and no answer. There is never an answer.”


He said, “You can hear he is trying to smash the door down.”
While the audio seemed to give some insight into the circumstances leading to the Germanwings crash on Tuesday morning, it also left many questions unanswered.

“We don’t know yet the reason why one of the guys went out,” said the official, who requested anonymity because the investigation was continuing. “But what is sure is that at the very end of the flight, the other pilot is alone and does not open the door.”

The data from the voice recorder seems only to deepen the mystery surrounding the crash and provides no indication of the condition or activity of the pilot who remained in the cockpit. The descent from 38,000 feet over about 10 minutes was alarming but still gradual enough to indicate that the twin-engine Airbus A320 had not been damaged catastrophically. At no point during the descent was there any communication from the cockpit to air traffic controllers or any other signal of an emergency.

When the plane plowed into craggy mountains northeast of Nice, it was traveling with enough speed that it was all but pulverized, killing the 144 passengers and crew of six and leaving few clues.


The French aviation authorities have made public very little, officially, about the nature of the information that has been recovered from the audio recording, and it was not clear whether it was complete. France’s Bureau of Investigations and Analyses confirmed only that human voices and other cockpit sounds had been detected and would be subjected to detailed analysis.

Asked about the new evidence revealed in the cockpit recordings, Martine del Bono, a bureau spokeswoman, declined to comment. “Our teams continue to work on analyzing the CVR,” she said, referring to the cockpit voice recorder. “As soon as we have accurate information we intend to hold a press conference.”

Meanwhile, prosecutors in Marseille, who have been tasked with a separate criminal inquiry into the crash, could not immediately be reached for comment. Brice Robin, the Marseille prosecutor, was due to meet Thursday morning with the families of the crash victims.

At the crash site, a senior official working on the investigation said, workers found the casing of the plane’s other so-called black box, the flight data recorder, but the memory card containing data on the plane’s altitude, speed, location and condition was not inside, apparently having been thrown loose or destroyed by the impact.

Man connives with kidnappers to sell his 15yr old female cousin to pimps in Libya.

Parents of  15 year-old girl Precious Nwaigwe, who was kidnapped in Lagos by some Niger-based kidnappers on Sunday May 25th last year have revealed how a relation of theirs connived with some the kidnappers to kidnap their daughter and sell her to some pimps in Libya.

Speaking with  Punch, Blessing Nwaigwe, Precious's mother said the police have arrested a relation of theirs who worked with the kidnappers...
 “The person that has just been arrested is one of our relatives. He is my cousin’s child and is currently with SARS.

 When we got his contact sometime in September last year from the kidnappers, we did not know he was the one because they gave us a different name. So, his family and our family had a meeting and he was invited to the meeting to resolve the issue. It was during the meeting that the police arrested him.
The suspect said the girl was no longer with him. He told the police investigators that after he was paid N250,000, he released the girl to another person who took her to Libya.”


Blessing, a student of the Ikenne Community College in Ikenne Ogun state had come to Lagos to spend the holidays with her father at his home in Ajah and was on her way back to school when she was kidnapped.

Her Father, Okoro Nwadile, while recounting how his daughter was kidnapped, said he placed her in a commercial bus that would take her to back to school and unknown to him, the bus was filled with kidnappers.

He said days later, he got a call from the school, inquiring why she had not resumed. He said this was followed by a call from the kidnappers demanding for $100,000 ransom or they would make Sarah work for them so she can pay her ransom.

The case was reported at the Ajah Police Division from where it was transferred to the Anti-Robbery Squad in Ikeja. A police source who spoke on the recent developments in the case, confirmed that Blessing who was initially taken to Niger has been transferred to Libya.


“The girl is no more in the Niger Republic. She has been taken to Libya and the police have arrested one of those involved in the kidnap. The new suspect told us that the girl was no longer in his custody because she had been sold to some people suspected to be pimps in Libya.” the police source said.

Stop insulting the military - IBB tells pro-Jonathan campaign groups.

Former Military leader, Gen Ibrahim Babangida has called on pro-Jonathan campaign groups to desist from insulting the military in any of their campaign documentaries. Gen Babangida gave the charge in a statement he signed and released yesterday March 25th. Read statement below...


"In clear attempts to whip up support for President Goodluck Jonathan, certain persons, groups and individuals have embarked on several campaigns of calumny against former military Heads of State and presidents who have had the opportunity to govern this country.

Of particular reference is a one-hour documentary aired on Silverbird Television on Tuesday night; 24th March, 2015 that deliberately impugned the integrity of Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, Muhammadu Buhari, my humble self; Ibrahim Babangida, the late Sani Abacha, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and T.Y. Danjuma; all of whom have had the privilege of presiding over the affairs of this great country at various levels.

 It is either that those promoting the hate documentary are intellectually delinquent or they suffer memory loss; or a combination of both. I have my very strong reservations about the contents and thematic focus of the said documentary.

Apart from promoting hate campaign which clearly undermines the modest contributions of these former presidents, the commentaries in the documentary against the former presidents leave a sour taste in the mouth.


Nobody is stopping anyone from campaigning for their preferred candidates contesting various positions in the elections, but to do that at the expense of the reputation, contributions, patriotism, loyalty and sacrifice of former presidents to the Nigerian state is, to say the least, immature.

The military is at present combating the dreaded Boko Haram sect to restore Nigeria’s territorial integrity. What law under a democracy forbids retired military personnel from participating in politics and presenting themselves for election?

Over 90 per cent of American Presidents have military background. Leadership training is better grounded in the military than any other profession.

And the military parades some of the best brains in any country, including Nigeria. In fact, some of my military students that I tutored have Doctorate Degrees.

It is, therefore, callous, wicked, out-of-sync, cynical and a show of crass ignorance for anyone to undermine the military institution by embarking on mudslinging campaigns against former presidents and leaders with military background.

While those campaigners are pointing their accusing fingers at us, they forget to recall that the present Director-General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation is actually a retired military officer.

 It is this form of demonisation and stigmatisation that often compels us to exhibit esprit de corps amongst ourselves in support of our military institution and colleagues when the stakes are high.

As disciplined military officers, we are patriotic Nigerians and must be treated with utmost respect and decorum. The military is an institution that is so dear to my heart.

It is an institution that nurtured my growing up and my achievements in life. I am not only sold to the military institution and by extension the Nigerian state, I am betrothed to it.

As a profession, retirees are bound to participate in politics and democracy as an all-inclusive process, same way that doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, and civil servants get involved in it.

It is the reason why I ventured into politics in 2003 before I quit in 2010. It is the same reason why General Obasanjo participated and got elected; and now General Buhari.

 It is therefore very curious that promoters of President Goodluck Jonathan’s aspiration would attempt to demonise and stigmatise former military leaders and cast aspersions on them in order to malign their reputation.

This is very unfair. Fact is; the military fought a civil war to keep this country together. What I suffer today is a consequence of the injuries I sustained during the Nigeria Civil War.


I am not sure there is any patriotism that is more than that. Some of us were prepared to die for the country.”he said in the statement

While speaking today Wednesday March 25th at the PDP women presidential campaign rally in Oyo state, the first lady Patience Jonathan is quoted by Thecable.ng to have said that the APC and its presidential candidate plan to jail many people, including herself if they win the 2015 election...
“I want to tell you the people of Oyo state, you don’t need to listen to APC. APC is a spare drug; they don’t have material to quantify PDP material. You should know that they have been in government before; they were there before PDP, before Goodluck administration. If they come to Oyo, ask them, what do they have for you, not ‘I will, I will’.


 You were there; when you were there, what did you do for the people of Oyo state? “All what they did for you people when they were there was to send your fathers and your children to prison.


That’s all what they have for you people, and I want you to remember. Some of you were still small by then when your fathers were sent to prison by this very APC people.
