Nigerian OAP Adaeze Ayoka kidnapped & allegedly raped in Ghana

Popular OAP, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, born to a Ghanaian mother and Nigerian father from Abia state, was reportedly kidnapped a few days ago and allegedly raped by her abductors.

 According to media reports, her colleagues said the last time they heard from her was Easter Friday but when they didn't see her throughout last week, they declared her missing yesterday Monday April 13th.

Last night, her abductors reportedly posted nude photos of Adaeze to her Whatsapp and Facebook page using her phone.

 People who claimed to have seen the photos claim three men, who didn't show their faces, pinned Adaeze down and opened her legs, and said they'd taken turns on her.

The alleged photos (I didn't see any) supposedly went viral on Ghanian social media space. A colleague of the victim contacted Facebook who immediately shut down her Facebook page.

Adaeze was reportedly released late yesterday/early this morning by her abductors and is currently on admission in a hospital in Ghana. Continue to read an update...

Y Lounge Presenter, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka known in media circles as Ada is currently on admission at the female/maternity ward at the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GPHA) Hospital in Takoradi after she was released by the abductors.


www.233times.com’s Nana Kwesi Coomson together with the Takoradi Y FM General Manager, Franklin Kofi Fiati this morning visited the Regional Crime Office at Central Police Station where the Officer revealed that he cannot give any information since any credible information should come from the Presenter herself and not anyone.

He urged to team to relay information to the office to aid them in their investigations.

From the Regional Crime Office in Takoradi, the team proceeded to the GPHA Hospital where administrators did not allow anyone to see Ada.

Their reason being that, the Doctor on duty, Dr. Boateng is checking up on admitted patients at the facility and the team could come back at 12pm. “

She is sleeping now so even if we allow you people to see her, you cannot talk to her. She is well and has no bruises on her.

Her dreadlocks are shaved, that’s the only thing I can say” the hospital told www.233times.com.

 According to the hospital, information circulating in media that the Police brought her to the hospital is false because the traumatized Presenter was brought by her neighbors to the hospital.
According to her colleagues, the Y Lounge Presenter was threatened by some unknown people last year.

Together with Julius, the Programmes Manager of the station then, she reported the case to the police. “In the threatening text, she was told by the people that she was going to die, they will kill her” her colleague at Y FM told www.233times.com.

“The last time Ada was seen at work was the Thursday before Easter Friday. I even had a chat with her on Easter Friday, since then I haven’t heard from her and haven’t seen her too” Kwame Legend, the morning show host of Y FM told www.233times.com .


The abductors according to Ada’s Y FM colleagues circulated the nude pictures of her via her Whats App number and her Facebook.

 They revealed that, Giovanni, a presenter at Y FM in Accra reported the incident to Facebook and her account was blocked by Facebook administrators.


According to deep throat neighbor who wants to be anonymous, “she came home last night around 12am and she started knocking at the door.

As soon as we saw her, she started asking for food and when she was given the food, she started hitting us with the food given her. She was taken to the hospital around 1am.”
When a Journalist visited Ada this dawn at the GPHA Hospital, she was asked by a nurse whether she knows the Journalist.

Ada according to the Journalist looked at her and started shouting “where is my baby, that tinny little baby, she is hungry, I have to give her food. She is hungry”

Oyo: Folarin, PDP Candidate Removes Transformer Donated To Community.

It was a shock find for the Sabo community in Ibadan, Oyo State capital in the early hours of Sunday as they woke up in the morning only to see a Transformer donated to the community few days ago by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, being carted away by some aides of the former Senate Leader.

The PDP governorship candidate who came fourth in the Oyo State Gubernatorial election had reportedly conceded defeat on Saturday night apparently having seen the signals that the incoming polls result did not favour him.However, the alarm raised by members of the Sabo community on sighting those removing the Transformer in the early hours of Sunday did not move the perpetrators who eventually removed the transformer to an unknown place.

Members of the Sabo community instantly stormed the palace of the Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Ahmed Dahiru Zungeru where they expressed their worry, a development which compelled the Sarki to wade into the matter by calling on Folarin’s political associate within the community, Alhaji Bashiru Maiborno, for clarification.

Daily Trust gathered that it was at this stage that Baiborno spiritedly made moves to effect the return of the transformer to Sabo community, but he was rebuffed as the Sabo community vowed not to take back the transformer from Senator Folarin.

Efforts by our correspondent to get Senator Folarin’s personal reaction on the development was futile as he could not be reached.

Maiborno however insisted that the transformer was removed with a view to keeping it in a safer place. “Senator Folarin is a man of his words,” Maiborno told inquisitive journalists.

I can't promise my government will find missing Chibok girls - Buhari.

President-elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says his incoming government cannot promise the return of missing Chibok girls but that they would do everything within their power to secure their return.

 He said this in a statement he released today April 13th to commemorate one year of the girls' abduction. The statement below...


Today is a time to reflect on the pain and suffering of the victims, their friends and families. Our thoughts and prayers, and that of the whole Nigerian Nation, are with you today.

I want to assure all of them, and particularly the parents, that when my new Administration takes office at the end of May, we will do everything we can to defeat Boko Haram.

 We will act differently from the Government we replace: we hear the anguish of our citizens and intend to respond accordingly.


This new approach must also begin with honesty. We do not know if the Chibok girls can be rescued. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

As much as I wish to, I cannot promise that we can find them. But I say to every parent, family member and friend of the children that my Government will do everything in its power to bring them home.

 What I can pledge, with absolute certainty, is that starting on the first day of my Administration Boko Haram will know the strength of our collective will and commitment to rid this nation of terror, and bring back peace and normalcy to all the affected areas.  When they are defeated militarily, as they will be, we will ensure our citizens in the affected areas have improved educational opportunities as a direct counterbalance to Boko Haram’s twisted ideology.

Presidential Transition committee begins work

A transition committee that would work towards the smooth transition in government from outgoing President Jonathan to President-elect Gen. Buhari on May 29th was inaugurated in Abuja today April 13th.

According to The Nation, the inauguration committee is chaired by vice president Namadi Sambo.

In attendance were other members of the committee which includes Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Attorney General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, Head of Service of the Federation, Daniel Kifasi, Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, the Minister of Police Affairs, Jelil Adesinyan & NAFDAC DG, Paul Orhii.

All my political appointees will declare their assets on resumption and termination of their appointment - Buhari

President elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says all political office holders, governors, ministers, permanent secretaries, head of foreign staff and others, will be declaring their assets before a law court on assumption of their appointment and at the end of their appointment.

According to him, this would ensure accountability amongst public servants. He said this in an interview with Sahara TV yesterday April 12th
"All those that were governors, ministers, permanent secretaries, head of foreign staff and all those with political appointments will have to declare their assets on the assumption of their appointment and definitely with the courts. And once they leave they have to re-declare their assets.”

 he said

He said that his administration will not interfere in the judicial process that will be used to pursue corrupt officials. According to him, if his administration “become embroiled in investigation of every ministry, then the government will not have time to move forward.”

Reacting to the recent remarks by the Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on the fiscal conditions and government spending in Nigeria, Gen Buhari said “I’m afraid the Finance Minister has no cause to complain because the governors cannot force the central government to act outside the Constitution.”


Regarding the controversies surrounding oil block ownership in Nigeria, Gen Buhari said partisan politics has been responsible for award oil wells to people who do not have any business with it in the first place

"Proliferation of oil fields to people who don’t even know what it is, is one of the messes partisan politics has brought.” he said

Reacting to insinuation in some quarters that former President Olusegun Obasanjo was indirectly having influence in his incoming government, Gen Buhari said "I think that people have to accept the realities of Nigeria’s political development.

General Olusegun Obasanjo is the only living Nigerian that led Nigeria for more than 11 years, so for anybody to think that General Obasanjo is irrelevant or he was trying to push his influence over issues, I think is being uncharitable and not being fair to Nigeria’s political development."
