A 16-year-old boy who killed and removed the intestines, kidneys and other body parts of a four-year-old boy was on Monday arraigned in a Yaba Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos State.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah-Moshood, told the court that the accused committed the murder on July 27 at Ijanikin, behind Anglican Primary School, Lagos.
She alleged that the accused lured his four-year-old neighbour to a primary school in Ijanikin, Lagos.
She said that the suspect allegedly cut the boy’s stomach with a kitchen knife and removed the intestines, the kidneys and his private part.
The prosecutor explained that the mother of the deceased had gone into labour and left her children at home with their father.
She further stated that the deceased was outside playing with the suspect's younger sister when he was lured by the teenager and dismembered.
She told the court that after a long search for the victim, his body was found at the police station where the accused teenager was apprehended.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs F.A. Adeeyo, ordered that the accused be remanded in Creation Centre pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution over the killing.
The magistrate adjourned the case till October 19 for mention.
