MAMA Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is allegedly in a cover-up involving one of her famous grandsons who is accused of raping a 15-year-old.

MAMA Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is allegedly embroiled in a cover-up involving one of her famous grandsons who is accused of raping a 15-year-old last Friday.
The incident is said to have occurred at a party in Greenside, Jozi. Thesuspect allegedly tracked the victim to a toilet and raped her.
The close families of the allegedvictim and the suspect cannot be named for legal reasons.
According to the girl’s familymembers, Mama Winnie asked them to give her family some time.
She was said to have made two promises: that she would hand over her grandson at a copshop and call a press briefing to inform the media about the rape allegations.
Sunday Sun can reveal that on Thursday this week a meeting between Mama Winnie and the family took place at her home in Soweto. She promised to surrender the suspect within 24 hours, said the girl’s dad.
He told the SunTeam: “I’m veryangry. The Mandelas are using their big name not to hand over their grandson. The boy also had the audacity to tell my daughter that nothing would happen to him!
“I’ve had calls from people who claimed to be police advised by Winnie, but no one is coming to see me, which makes me think it’s a cover-up.
“If nothing happens by tomorrow I’m going to expose them and theircrooked cops, and lay a charge,” he said.
A delegate from the girl’s family who was at the meeting on Thursday said: “We were treated like nobodies. We were told what to do and how they will handle the matter. But they showed no concern for our feelings or the 15-year-old girl who was raped.
“We won’t rest until we find justice in this matter. The ball is in their court to hand over the suspect – or we will go ahead.”
A third family member said: “The Mandelas are trying to tell the victim’s mum not to press charges.”
Yesterday, SAPS provincial spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said: “If a crime has been committed, you can’t negotiate. At this stage I’m not aware but we encourage the family to open a case ASAP.”
Yesterday Mama Winnie was not available for comment as her phone rang unanswered.
