A 37 year old Mombasa based gay pastor, Edwin Sikot, has left many Kenyans in shock after he walked down the aisle with his 27 year old boyfriend, Isaiah Guda, in a small wedding ceremony attended by about 20 people.
The wedding took place in a local church located in Mtito Andei and only a few people were invited to witness the rare occasion.
While speaking in an interview with a local daily, the newlywed gay pastor said that he met his gay partner through facebook and they have finally decided to settle down.
“We had the wedding in the village where we stay. A pastor there, a good friend who understands much and who knows I am a gay and who knows about my relationship with Isaiah, brought a word – something like a service, for our wedding. We made a tent. It was just us and our guests, about twenty people. We said our vows to each other.” He said.
They are now living as husband and wife despite receiving several threats from some locals who feel offended.
