Femi Fani Kayode writes open letter to Buhari, says 'God Hates Liars'

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has penned a thought-provoking letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, warning him to stop feeding Nigerians with lies.

Fani in his letter reminded the President not to forget the fact that the same way someone handed over to him, so he will definitely do one day, stressing that leadership was not all about revenge.
His letter reads bellow:
“Mr. President, as one of your most loyal and faithful subjects who has nothing but the utmost respect for your person and your office I am constrained to write you this open letter.
This is because there are a number of issues that I believe that it is important for you to clarify and to come clean on. I say this because some of your assertions of late are at best contradictory and at worst patently dishonest.
Whichever side of the political divide we are on I believe that we can all agree on one thing: that the prosecution of the war against terror is not something that any of us should play politics with.
This is especially so given the fact that human lives are at stake and the very existence of our nation is under threat. Like much of the rest of the world, our country is going through hell at the hands of the jihadists and Islamist terrorists.
There is no gainsaying that we must all come to terms with the fact that the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL), Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Al Shabab, Boko Haram, Hamas and another group that the internationally-respected Global Terror Index has described as the ”Fulani militants” (aka Fulani herdsmen) are nothing but bloodthirsty murderers and the lowest form of life.
They are indeed the scum of the earth, the troublers of humanity and the vermin of hell. It is with this in mind that I urge you to take the war against terror far more seriously than you are doing and plead with you to stop passing the buck.
Your penchant for blaming your failings in this regard on the previous administration is simply nauseating and it does not serve you well.
You continuously contradict yourself when it comes to this matter and frankly such flip flops are unworthy of the office that you presently occupy.
We your subjects look up to you for consistency, strength, unequivocal commitment, a firm resolve and the ”leadership from the front” that you promised during your presidential campaign in this war. We do not want and neither do we need doublespeak, lame excuses and buck passing.
Permit me to point out a few examples of your contradictory assertions and your buck passing in this short intervention.
Initially you claimed that your predecessor in office President Goodluck Jonathan never bought any arms and that instead he squandered and stole all the money that was appropriated for the procurement of arms.
Yet when the British Minister of Defense visited you in the Presidential Villa the other day the story changed. You did a U-turn and gleefully told him and the wider world that President Jonathan bought arms with raw cash.
One wonders which story you shall come up with next and which one you will conjure up in the future.
Kindly tell us what the position is: is it that Jonathan did not buy arms at all and stole all the money or is it that he used cash to buy arms? You cannot have it both ways. It is either one or the other.
Quite apart from your glaring doublespeak on this matter there was another issue which you ought to have raised with your highly esteemed and respected British guest.
You forgot to tell him that his was one of the countries that not only refused to sell weapons to us during the course of this bitter conflict but that also helped to impose and enforce the international arms embargo on our country even though we are at war.
This resulted in the unnecessary death of thousands of our people because we found it difficult to procure the weapons to protect them.
Your guest’s country insisted on towing the American line and doing this to us even though we were fighting a war against a relentless, well-motivated, well-funded and well-armed fighting force that Global Terror Index has described as the ”deadliest terrorist organization in the world.”
One is forced to ask: with friends like this, who needs enemies?
Given the fact that the embargo was in place, one wonders how we were supposed to procure arms unless we did so with raw cash on the black market.
The alternative was to buy none at all, to do nothing and to allow Boko Haram to take Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Lagos. Perhaps that is precisely what your western friends and allies wanted but thankfully it never came to pass.
Despite the challenges and constraints President Jonathan faced, instead of losing any more ground, he rose to the occasion and retook no less than 22 local government areas and virtually pushed Boko Haram out of Nigeria.
The only place that they occupied by the time the election took place was Sambisa forest.
Jonathan achieved all this with those arms that he bought with raw cash. This is apparently what you are now complaining about. Permit me to remind you that it is those same arms that Jonathan bought with raw cash that your army is still using till today.
Yet sadly since you were sworn in as President seven months ago, you have lost some of those same local government areas that were earlier recovered and they are now back in the hands of the terrorists.
Despite this you keep telling the international community and the Nigerian people that we are ”making progress” in the war against terror.
As a matter of fact you went as far as to say that we had ”won the war” against Boko Haram and your Minister of Information, Mr. Lai Mohammed, echoed that grotesque mendacity and reiterated that sentiment by adding the words ”technically won” (whatever that may mean) to the equation.

Woman is caned in Indonesia for being 'close' to a man she was not married to (photos)

An Indonesian woman was flogged outside a Mosque in Indonesia last week and her crime? For being in 'close proximity' to a man she wasn't married to. This apparently is an offence under Sharia law and the punishment is public caning. Hundreds of people gathered outside the Mosque to watch student Nur Elita caned for showing affectionate behaviour to a fellow university student. The caning ended with Nur collapsing and being taken to the hospital. More photos after the cut...

Randy Pastor Forced To Marry Corpse Of Dead Church Member Who Died Of Abortion Complication In Eket Akwa Ibom.A self-acclaimed man of God in Eket LGA of Akwa Ibom State, identified as Pastor Augustine Mendie , is in deep trouble as he was made to marry the corpse of a female church member he had
impregnated and tried to procure an abortion for.
According to the reports, the pastor who is the General Overseer of a pentecostal church in the area and married with children, is a randy man who slept with many ladies in his church, both married and single till he got his fingers burnt.
The lady who became his albatross, according to the information, was the praise and worship leader of the church but also pastor’s secret lover. No one in the church knew what was going on between them until the lady got pregnant and informed the pastor. The man who did not want to shoulder the responsibilities, decided to procure an abortion for her. Unknown to him, the lady had confided in her friend about the development.
In the process of the abortion, the pregnant lady lost her life. When the bubble burst and the friend told the family of the late woman that the pastor was responsible, all hell was let loose.

He initially tried to deny responsibility but after he was threatened with the community’s deity, he agreed that he was actually the one responsible.
To appease the gods, he was made to marry the corpse of the woman the traditional way.

Man Kills Live-in-Lover on Christmas Day in Lagos, Flees

The Lagos State Police Command says it has contacted the International Police over a runaway murder suspect, identified only as Sunday, who allegedly stabbed his 21-year-old girlfriend, Cecilia Joseph, to death in the FESTAC Town area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred on Friday, Christmas Day, in the lovers’ rented apartment on Waterside Street in the Lakeview Estate, Phase 2, in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of the state.
The duo had a fight during which Sunday allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Cecilia in theneck and in the stomach.

Neighbours, who learnt of the attack after Sunday had fled the house, reported the matter at the FESTAC Police Division.
It was learnt that the policemen came to the house and took Cecilia to the Isolo General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
The bloodstained knife used by the suspect had also been recovered by the police.
A resident, who declined to give her name, said the duo had been living in the apartment without being married for some months before the incident happened.
She said:

“There was a quarrel between them on the Christmas Day. I heard that it was the woman who first went to take the knife and attacked the man.

“The man then took the knife from her and stabbed her in the neck. It was her screams that alerted the neighbours. I think she had died before the police arrived. The man ran away before anyone took notice.”
The matter had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, where investigation was ongoing.
A police source said the suspect ran out of the country to the Benin Republic.

“The suspect is believed to have sustained knife injuries. He killed the lady in anger. He has escaped out of the country. The knife is with us and we also took photographs of the scene of the crime,” he added.
The Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident, said the Interpol section would be given the suspect’s details to aid their investigations.
He said:

“We will look for the suspect and we will get him. The police have no jurisdictional problem even if the suspect has fled to the Benin Republic. Our Interpol section has been contacted.“The details of the matter will be given to the Interpol, and we will arrest him where he is. Meanwhile, the corpse was taken to the Isolo General Hospital and deposited in a morgue there for an autopsy. Investigation is ongoing.”

OMG !!! Woman Pours Hot Water on Nursing Mother

A woman, identified as Esther Williams, has been arrested by the Isheri division of the Lagos State Police Command for pouring hot water on her neighbour, Mabel Enwongomfon–Umoh, who is a nursing mother.

Williams, who is said to be in her late 30s, was said to have emptied a bucket of hot water on Mabel after they had a minor argument in their rented house on Thursday, December 24, 2015, around 8pm.
The incident left Mabel, who was still breastfeeding her two-month-old baby, with severe burns on
many parts of her body, including her two breasts and abdomen.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the woman had not been able to breastfeed her baby since the incident happened.
The husband of the victim, who identified himself simply as Umoh, told PUNCH Metro that Williams attempted to escape after assaulting his wife, but he was able to apprehend and hand her over to the police.
Mabel, 27, who was evidently writhing in pains on the hospital bed when our correspondent visited, told PUNCH Metro that it was a fight between some of her co-tenants in front of her room that led to the incident.
She explained that Williams, who poured the water on her, had nothing to do with the quarrel.
She said, “My neighbour’s brother and his girlfriend were fighting and they pushed themselves to the front of my door. When I could not cope with the disturbance again, I went outside to call the guy’s sister to come and separate them or make them leave our entrance.
“As I was going back to my room, Williams, who had nothing with the fight, asked why I called the sister, saying I was interfering in something that did not concern me. I told her that they were fighting in front of my room, but she pushed me. I was surprised because we never had a quarrel before then.
“That was how we started shouting on each other.”
She recalled that it was the noise from the fight that drew the attention of her husband who was in the room with their two children. She said her husband came out to separate them and they were already going back to their apartment when Mabel ran into her room to carry the bucket of water and poured it on her.
She said, “I was in the front while my husband was behind me. Suddenly, she went into her room and came out with a bucket and poured the content on me.
“I have been in serious pain since then, and I have not been able to breastfeed my two-month-old baby, who is my second child.”

A police source told our correspondent that Williams had confessed to the crime and that she blamed the devil for the act.
“She would be charged to court,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, said he would get back to our correspondent on the incident.

“Let me call the DPO of the division and get back to you,” he added.

Shocking rape and roberry crime : Man Rapes & robs 2 women in one night...

A Gwanda man who broke into two premises in Mpoengs and raped two women twice his age before robbing them has been jailed for 30 years.
Gift Mthombeni, 21, of Guyu was convicted on his own plea of guilty to rape, unlawful entry, theft and assault by Bulawayo regional magistrate, Chrispen Mberewere.
He will serve an effective 25 years after five years were suspended for five years on condition that he does not within that period commit a similar crime.
In passing the sentence, Mberewere said Mthombeni’s conduct was deplorable and showed an inherent wickedness in his character.
“In assessing the appropriate sentence, the court notes and regrets that you’re a young man who stands convicted of a very serious offence. There’s substantial premeditation evident from the manner you committed the series of offences when you identified places you clearly knew the victims would be sleeping alone and pounced on them,” said Mberewere.
“You chose the very middle of the night to attack and rape two adult women both twice your age. Your conduct is deplorable and clearly imprisonment awaits you. It’s the only form of punishment that you deserve as it’ll also send a message to other predators like you,” ruled the magistrate.
Prosecuting, Liane Nkomo said on October 5 this year shortly after midnight, the victim aged 42 was sleeping alone in her bedroom when Mthombeni broke the door to the house to gain entry.
The court heard that while inside, Mthombeni grabbed the woman and pinned her down while covering her mouth to muffle her screams. “Mthombeni ordered the victim to remove her clothes before he raped her after which he took R140 from her handbag and fled,” said Nkomo.
During the same night, Mthombeni proceeded to a tuck-shop in the same neighbourhood. He knocked on the door and asked the occupant to open on the pretext that he wanted to settle a R30 debt. The tuck-shop owner, a 40 year-old woman, refused to open the door and told Mthombeni to bring the money during the day.
“Mthombeni who was wielding a machete, destroyed the locking system and gained entry into the shop,” said Nkomo.
He threatened to strike the woman with the machete but she ducked and the two wrestled until Mthombeni overpowered her. The court heard that Mthombeni assaulted the victim and she sustained bruises on her face, knees and neck.
Mthombeni raped the victim and stole packets of cigarettes, two cellphones, 28 airtime recharge vouchers and R500 and fled.
A report was made to the police leading to Mthombeni’s arrest and recovery of some of the stolen money and property.
