A 39-year-old South African woman identified as Nosisi Nqgula was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, with $373,725 (N74.4million) and €2,120 (N450,000), concealed inside packs of oats found in her luggage (above).

According to a statement by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA Lagos Airport Command, the money was discovered during an inward screening of passengers on a South African airline flight enroute from Johannesburg.

Two Nigerians, Damian Akamelu and Prophet Cyprian Chigere are being interrogated in connection with the seized money.

“I live in Johannesburg.

 I was given a bag by a Nigerian to deliver to Damian Akamelu. During examination of my bags at the Lagos airport, the money was found inside packs of oats.” she said.

The NDLEA Commander at the airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, said the manner in which the money was concealed was questionable.

“The mode of concealment presents reasonable grounds for money laundering. Five packs of oats were found to contain $373,725 and €2,120.

Two Nigerians are also being interrogated.”he said NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Ahmadu Giade while commenting on the arrest said the agency will investigate the matter so as to know the source of the money "I have therefore directed that the case be investigated to ascertain the source of the money.” he said

MOROCCAN ATHLETES BURNT TO DEATH IN A BUS CRASH

Young Moroccan Athletes burnt to death in bus crash.

A head-on collision between a petrol tanker and a bus carrying a delegation of young Moroccan athletes said to be around 14/15 years old resulted in the death of 31 people with about 9 people seriously injured after the tanker exploded and spread fire.

According to Morocco's Ministry of Sport, the accident happened along the road between the capital, Rabat, and Laayoune. Moroccan media reports that the young athletes were school students participating in a national sports competition who had gone to the competition to represent their schools. They were on their way back when their bus collided with the petrol tanker..

Airforce helicopter crashes in Lagos

A Nigerian Air Force helicopter on a training mission in Lagos crashed at about 10am today April 10th.

 According to a statement by Nigerian Air Force spokesperson, Dele Alonge, the helicopter, which suffered severe damage, was returning to the Apron after the completion of the training exercise when it crashed due to hydraulic failure while on taxi to the hanger.

No casualty was recorded. A full scaled investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash has been ordered by the Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosun.

Osa Alohaneke Stabs His Fiancée To Death In The US .

More details have been released after a woman was found apparently stabbed to death and her fiance was found nearby splashed with blood Wednesday night at a home in Fort Bend County.

Authorities have released more details in what they say was the apparent stabbing death of a a 52-year-old woman whose fiance was found nearby splashed with blood Wednesday night at a home in Fort Bend County.

Osa Alohaneke, 56, faces a murder charge in the woman's death at about 7 p.m. in the 16300 block of Alametos Drive in the Mission Bend area, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they found the female victim, identified Thursday as Evelyne Ebane Epiepang, dead inside the house and her sister injured.

 Alohaneke was standing nearby with blood on his clothes, according to a news release. He told investigators that Epiepang was his fiancee and they lived at the house.

Another man, a family friend, at the home was not hurt.Epiepang's sister was taken to Memorial-Hermann Hospital-Katy.

 She had a puncture wound in her shoulder and a broken arm. Her condition was not released, but deputies said her injuries were non-life-threatening.

Deputies said they were first dispatched about 5 p.m. on a domestic violence emergency call from Epiepang.

 When deputies arrived at the house, Alohaneke had already left.About two hours later, Alohaneke reportedly returned to the home and banged on the front door, but the two women were not home. A man in the house phoned the victim, and she and her sister returned.

Deputies say the alleged fatal attack occurred after their return.Alohaneke is in the Fort Bend County jail and is being held for the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
