Alleged serial thief says he is under spiritual attack, after stealing again

This is the story of Jerry, who claims to be a student of Obafemi Awolowo Univeristy, Ile-Ife, Osun State, and a member of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. He recently went to visit a girl, Eniola, in her school and ended up stealing her laptop and a phone belonging to her friend. .

After so much threats, Jerry, who sounded remorseful, reached out to Eniola via text message, to tell her that he doesn't understand why he steals and that he has caused his mum, a whole lot of trouble. He said he'd be glad if Eniola could kill him. .
.
But, last night, when a friend of Eniola went to his IG page to ask him to return what he stole, he quickly blocked her and all Eniola's friends, he then deleted his pictures and set his page to private. He was however not smart enough to do same for his Twitter account. His pictures were retrieved from Twitter..... and he is now on course to b more popular than ur favorite celebrity......

Indian driver and his brother arrested for molesting a Nigerian female undergraduate in India

A 45 year old auto-rickshaw driver identified as Aagya Pal Singh and his brother have been arrested for allegedly molesting an unidentified 22-year-old Nigerian girl pursuing her second year graduation from a Delhi University college in West Delhi, India.

According to reports, the young Nigerian girl was out to visit her friend 's home around 1.30 a.m. on Friday January 8th and had gotten into a hired auto-rickshaw in Tilak Nagar, when another man entered the vehicle and sat next to her.

The two men allegedly took turns to molest her in the running vehicle. When she resisted, they pushed her out of the running vehicle, injuring her.

Since the crime spot was not an auto stand, police were clueless about the identity of the suspects. Indian police scanned 17 CCTV cameras in the area, but had no luck.
“Only one CCTV had captured the auto, but the registration number was unreadable. The woman’s frequent use of local language and her heavy-accented broken English turned out to be an additional barrier for the investigating officers,” Pushpendra Kumar, DCP (West), told Indian newspaper, The Hindu.
A South Indian woman married to a Nigerian national was invited to help with the language. The victim told the police that her assailants were possibly injured in their heads as they were wearing “bandages”.

A better communication with the victim led the police to realize that the “bandages” were turbans. The Nigerian woman was then taken to some turban shops to identify the kind of turbans worn by the suspects. Once that was ascertained, police used other visual descriptions provided by the victim to conduct local interrogation and identify the suspects.

The 45 year old man was arrested at his home on Monday January 11th . He confessed to the crime. “The arrested suspect was driving the auto-rickshaw while his brother Baljeet Singh was the one who sat next to the victim. Finding the woman alone in the dead of the night, the brothers tried to take advantage of her,” said a police officer.

OMG. !!! Dad confesses to punching 16-day-old daughter to death

A dad who murdered his 16-day-old baby daughter by "repeatedly punching" or "slamming" her during a sickening attack at their home has been jailed for 25 years.
Matthew Higham, 23, from Stockport, pleaded guilty to killing Florence Liberty Mae Higham at Preston Crown Court on the first day of his trial.
Prosecutor Mr Gordon Cole QC said the little girl had received "extensive injuries" at the hands of her father.

A pathologist said it could not be ruled out that he infant was also kicked or stamped on.
Florence was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport but was pronounced dead at 8.38pm on July 29 last year.

The court was told that Higham had been looking after the baby while Florence's mother Sharon Collins visited a sick relative in hospital.
Mr Cole said that Higham was to make an emergency 999 call at 8.06pm saying that his daughter was "bleeding out of her nose, mouth and ears" but denied that Florence had sustained any trauma while with him.
He initially described to police how Florence had begun to bleed as he fed her, before stopping breathing.

Higham has maintained that he has no account of what happened or how he caused the injuries which included multiple skull and rib fractures, facial injuries and bruising, resulting in acute brain damage.
She also suffered internal injuries and organ damage including a lacerated liver.
Mr Cole said:
"It's right to say that Florence died as a result of these multiple injuries. Stating the obvious, a newborn baby is completely dependent on parents.
"These injuries reveal the extent of the injuries extending towards Florence by her father. Still there is no account from him as to how he caused these injuries.
"The injuries sustained were extensive and of course would have had no chance of recovery."
During the case, Higham remained with his head in his hands as Miss Collins cried.

The court was told that the findings of a post-mortem examination, conducted by Dr Naomi Carter at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, were consistent with repeated punches to the face or repeatedly being slammed against a hard surface.
Pathologist Dr Carter said she could not rule out that Florence was also kicked, squeezed or stamped on.
Fingertip bruises were also found on the little girl's arms, legs and chest indicating that she had been "gripped and pinched with considerable force".

Following a two-day investigation at the home, officers concluded that the assault had taken place around the sofa before the youngster was moved throughout the house as she continued to bleed.
The court heard that Higham had made an attempt to clean the house before emergency services arrived.
Blood-stained clothing was found in the dustbin.
Following his arrest later that night, he was to provide a statement denying his involvement in the death of his "perfect" baby, adding it had been "out of the blue".
The statement said: "I'm not responsible for the death of my lovely little girl Florence. She was the light of my eyes. I have not shook her or dropped her."
Mr Benjamin Nolan QC for Higham said: "He does not remember the actual events of the killing."
In passing sentence of life imprisonment with a minimum term of 25 years, Mr Justice Kerr said that the "evil done" by Higham in the "brutal and frenzied attack" was greater than in other cases he had considered.
He added:
"You battered her to death, her injuries were horrifying.
"It was a crime of such unspeakable violence it is difficult to understand how any human being could do such a thing.
"You say you do not remember doing it. Whether or not that is true, by your plea of guilty to the murder of your baby daughter you have accepted, very late, that you inflicted those injuries on her with the intention of killing her or doing her really serious harm."
The court was earlier told that two days prior to Florence's death social services had reduced the level of association with the family due to a "decreased level of concern".

The court was told that Higham's previous conviction of an offence of battery in May 2014 was "not irrelevant" as it was committed only a short time before the murder.
Mr Justice Kerr added:
"The victim was a baby barely two weeks old, defenceless and completely dependent on you.
"You still say you do not remember what happened, but now you accept that you intended to kill or cause really serious harm to Florence.
"Only this morning did you finally accept that the game was up and that the trial need not proceed."

Nigerian Hairdresser Who Abandoned Her Baby & Husband In Search Of Greener Pastures In Libya

Nigerian Hairdresser Who Abandoned Her Baby & Husband In Search Of Greener Pastures In Libya Rescued From Human Trafficker.
One of the 4 women rescued from a human trafficker, Ganiat Ajijola, arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, over the
weekend, has disclosed that she abandoned her two children for her husband in order to pave way for botched Libya trip.
The victim, Cecilia Bankole, 26, a hair dresser stated that her husband, name withheld, resisted her plan to abandon her children in search of Golden Fleece to Libya.
The mother of two children aged 2 and 4 years respectively, noted that when the issue was discussed with her husband initially, he disagreed with the plan, “I told my husband to allow me to go so that I would have an opportunity to raise funds for the family. I pleaded with him but he insisted in having the custody of his children. Although, I am a hairdresser but not done my freedom, going to Libya to work as artisan would enable me raise funds for my freedom as well as take care of my family. Even, when my mother pleaded with him that she would be taking care of the children while I will be away, he still declined. However, after much persuasion, my husband threatened me to have the custody of his children after my departure and I must not look back for them,” she added.
She explained that the human trafficker refused to open up for them how long they would stay in Libya.
“The trafficker didn’t tell us the number of years we are going to spend in Libya. She only told us the due date of the passport and that we are going by road,” the innocent mother said.
Expressing a contrary opinion, Mrs Maria Bankole, the victim’s mother and a prophetess in a white garment church in Alagbado, said that, what Ganiat Ajejola told her was that her daughter would be re – united with her after two years.

“I was informed of a big madam, whom Ganiat Ajejola was working for in Libya needs hairdressers to help her manage her shop. Upon hearing that my daughter will be going abroad, I volunteered my daughter because she is a hairdresser. I begged her husband but he declined to allow her go on the trip but I have prayed about it and God said she should go. That is why I am encouraging her,” she said.
According to her, “I followed her to the point where they were arrested because I want to know Ganiat Ajejola before their departure. I am not aware they were going by road. They told me Ganiat was taking them to Abeokuta to arrange an international passport for them.”
The operatives of the RRS whom were on the trail and surveillance of the human trafficker for two weeks before her arrest, hinted that they acted based on a tip–off from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The rescued victims and the human trafficker have been immediately transferred to National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Person (NAPTIP).

News News :Court orders Tompolo's arrest

An official order from the Federal High Court in Abuja has been issued for the arrest of former Niger Delta militant, Government Epemupolo also known as Tompolo who is being investigated by the EFCC for allegedly fraudulently selling a land for N13 billion to the last administration for the construction of a Nigerian Maritime University (NMU).

Tompolo was in December last year invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning but refused to honor their invitation claiming he was in court against the anti-graft agency.

The bank accounts of his companies, Mieka Divers Ltd and Global West Vessel Specialists Nigeria Ltd, used for the payment of the N13 billion has been frozen by the EFCC.

Tompolo has insisted that the land sale was transparently done and that any question for clarification should be directed to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Native doctor arrested for duping and getting a female client pregnant.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a native doctor, Ifatade Elegbeleye, for allegedly duping and impregnating a female client, Cecilia (full names withheld ), in the Ipaja area of the state.

42 years old Elegbeleye, who hails from Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, was arrested by the X-Squad section of the Police command after the victim made a complain to the police.
But the doctor, who confessed that he slept with the lady, added that the two of them fell in love with each other and insisted that they both enjoyed the sex.

Elegbeleye added that the victim had given birth to a baby girl for him.
The doctor was said to have been arrested on December 21, 2015. According to the police, the native doctor allegedly had a culture of turning his female clients into house maids after having sex with some of them.
The police added that Cecilia’s mother, who is a trader in Abesan Estate, Ipaja, had also been allegedly defrauded by the native doctor to the tune of N7.9m in 2015.
Punch reported that Cecilia was taken to Elegbeleye in November 2014, to seek help on issues bordering on late marriage and spiritual husband.
It was learnt that Elegbeleye, who had his centre at Olude bus stop in the Ipaja area, however, allegedly took advantage of the situation to impregnate Cecilia, as well as dupe the family.
The police alleged that the native doctor had built two houses ─ one in Lagos and the other in Ekiti ─ from the proceeds of the fraud.
Speaking with Punch, Cecilia said she met the native doctor at a bus stop on an evening in November 2014, adding that he allegedly hypnotised her into having an affair with him.

“I met him as a cab driver at the Iyana Ipaja Roundabout. We never knew that the man was a fraudster and was into occultism. He first became friendly with my mother. After that, one thing led to another until he sexually assaulted me and defrauded my mother,” she claimed.
However, Elegbeleye told Punch that there was no truth in Cecilia’s claims, adding that after she gave birth to a child for him, he rented a two-bedroom apartment for her.
In his words, “It is true that I am a native doctor and I treated her for ulcer and spiritual problems. She had a spiritual husband. She was having ‘promise and fail offer’ from men. So, we started befriending each other and in the process, she got pregnant for me.
“The woman now brought policemen to my house to arrest me. She has a girl for me. I did not use force to sleep with her. Can you hypnotise a woman who does not love you? It is not possible. She loved me. Her family wants to take all my property. That is why they are lying against me. Where did they get the N7m they are claiming? Are they rich?”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmus, confirmed the arrest. Investigation is ongoing.

Court denies FG power to seize MTN's funds in Nigerian banks

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos has denied the Federal Government powers to seize all funds owned by MTN Nigeria Communications Limited in Nigerian banks, pending when the telecommunication company pays up the N1.4 trillion fine leveled against it by the NCC over its failure to deactivate unregistered sim cards.

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), through his counsel, Dipo Okpeseyi (SAN), had in a motion filed before the court, expressed fears of MTN moving all its funds in Nigeria, since it was in their habit to do so.

According to the court paper, MTN had between October 2007 and May 2009 moved over $7.7bn of the money made in Nigeria to a foreign account. The telecommunications company had also on February 8, 2008, moved over $936m out of Nigerian banks to their foreign accounts.
“Unless this honourable court urgently entertains this application, the plaintiff/respondent would move its funds out of Nigeria, being the jurisdiction of this honourable court, and thereby frustrate the enforcement of the fine in the likely event that this honourable court sanctions the imposition of the fine,” counsel to the AGF said.
However in his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice denied the Federal governments application, stating that it had not provided any evidence showing that MTN was indeed moving its funds out of Nigerian banks. He said hearing on the case filed against the Federal government challenging the N1.4 trillion fine is more important and of public interest and will need to be heard soon so judgement can be delivered. He adjourned the case to January 22nd.
