The Enugu State Police Command on Thursday swore to apprehend unknown persons, who slit the throats of a married couple, Mr. and Mrs Marcel Abah, in the Igboeze North Local Government Area of the state.
Marcel and his wife, Jacinta, were said to be asleep when they were attacked.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said the incident occurred on September 21, at Amaja, a community located on the border between Enugu and Benue states.
According to information made available by the police, Marcel and Jacinta were asleep when, at about 2:00 am, unknown hoodlums invaded their home and slit their throats.
The dead bodies of the couple were discovered by neighbors, who alerted the police, later in the morning.

He added that the police has commenced full scale investigations into the incident.
The police spokesman said the perpetrators would not go unpunished.
