Check out sexy Taylor Swift’s First GQ Cover, Revealed

For her first-ever cover with GQ , Taylor Swift spent
time with writer Chuck Klosterman , giving an
intense, wide-ranging, Kanye West-inclusive
interview while dodging the paparazzi and, at one
point, taking a surprise call from one of the very
few humans who’s as famous as she is.

 As
Klosterman writes in the November issue, “If you
don’t take Swift seriously, you don’t take
contemporary music seriously...There’s simply no
antecedent for this kind of career: a cross-genre,
youth-oriented, critically acclaimed colossus based
entirely on the intuitive songwriting merits of a
single female artist. It’s as if mid-period Garth
Brooks was also early Liz Phair, minus the hat and
the swearing. As a phenomenon, it’s absolutely
new.”

Wife stabs police husband to death in Ondo

A woman, identified as Wumi Omowa, has allegedly stabbed her riot police husband, Israel, to death during a fight between them at the Olu Foam Area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

A source in the police said the woman had been arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigative Department of the State Police Command for interrogation.
The source said the husband, an Inspector of Police, had a misunderstanding with his wife, which degenerated into an exchange of abusive words, and later a fight.

Wumi allegedly rushed to the kitchen and returned with a knife, which he used to stab her husband in the neck.
Israel was said to have given up the ghost while he was being rushed to the hospital for treatment.

A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that Israel and Wumi used to quarrel frequently over some issues but the cause of the deadly fight was unclear.
The neighbour added that the suspect had to seek the help of neighbours to rush the deceased to a private hospital after the late police Inspector fainted and blood was gushing out from his neck.

Confirming the development, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, explained that the deceased died as a result of loss of blood, which happened following the deep cut sustained during the fight with his wife.

Joseph noted that the late Omowa was as an officer of the command, attached to Mopol 17 of the Mobile Police Force in Akure and a member of the Fast Strike Squad on routine patrol in the state.

Angela Luke, 40, was charged for aggravated vehicular homicide after she ran over her husband, Daniel Luke, while their two daughters were inside the car on Sunday night at the family's home near Canal Winchester, southeast of Columbus. Authorities say Daniel was killed during the domestic dispute that carried over into their driveway. Angela Luke was in the car with their 8- and 12-year-old daughters and says her husband was holding onto the car as she tried to drive away.

Angela pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges including aggravated vehicular homicide. The Columbus Dispatch reports the Fairfield County prosecutor's office filed a court request late Wednesday asking that charges against 40-year-old Angela Luke be dropped. Although charges have been dropped, an investigation is continuing and prosecutors could seek a grand jury indictment later.

Teacher Dies After Protest Against Pupil’s Rape

The school
Our correspondent learnt that the four-year-old nursery two pupil of the Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Ipaja, Bolu (pseudonym), was allegedly raped by the suspect, identified as Yemi Adesina, inside the classroom on Thursday, September 17.

PUNCH Metro gathered that angry residents had stormed the school on Akinola Road, Oja bus stop, Ipaja, the following day, and vandalised property, saying the school allegedly shielded the suspect.

The mob, which caused confusion on the premises, reportedly injured Adeshina before policemen from the Ipaja division arrested the suspect and some of the attackers.
It was learnt that in the ensuing violence, the 53-year-old, who was said to have pre-existing medical conditions, fell to the ground.

It was gathered that Folasade, who was invited by the police in Ipaja, and at the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for questioning, slumped on September 24, in her apartment ─ Block 68, Abesan Estate.
She was said to have died while being rushed to the hospital.

Our correspondent learnt that the victim, who reportedly bled for about a week after the rape, had been withdrawn from the school by her parents.
It was gathered that she had been enrolled in a new school, while the suspect had been transferred to the SDCI, for further investigation.

When our correspondent visited the teacher’s apartment on Wednesday, the deceased’s husband, Alhaji Ademosu, said the protesters injured his wife, adding that the school authorities should have rushed her to a hospital immediately after the incident.
He said, “Since the day of that incident, she had been complaining about her stomach. It was not easy that a woman of her age fell during the commotion. I expected that she would be taken to a hospital, and not a police station.

“On Sallah day, she kept on complaining about her body. She might have sustained some internal injuries. While the Sallah festivities went on, she just slumped and that was it. We rushed her to the hospital, but she died on the way.”
The pupil’s grandmother, Mrs. T. Ajose, told our correspondent that the school authorities allegedly refused to give her attention the following day when she went to report Bolu’s rape.

She said, “The girl turned four years on September 9; she had been attending the school since she was a year and six months old. It was when I went to pick her on that day that I observed that she looked moody. When I asked her what the matter was, she simply told me, ‘Grandma, I don’t want to go to that school again’. I did not understand what was going on.

“Later, when we got to the church, she said she wanted to excrete, and I observed that her faeces were stained with blood. I initially thought she had an infection, and cleaned her up, giving her a new pant. She was still moody; she would not eat and drink. Minutes later, her pant was soaked with blood again.
“That was when I raised the alarm and people in the church gathered round the two of us. We persuaded her to explain to us what happened. She said, ‘It was Uncle Yemi.

He said I should not tell anybody. He put me on the table. And he covered my eyes and mouth. He put something in my bum bum.’ The following day when I got to the school, none of the teachers paid attention.”
The grandma added that when policemen came to the school for interrogation, the girl insisted that it was Adesina who allegedly raped her.

She said, “After I reported the matter to the police, the Divisional Police Officer accompanied us to the school. He ordered all the male workers in the school to form a queue, and he interrogated the girl. She pointed at Yemi (Adesina) immediately. The DPO did that four times, and she pointed at the same person.

“So the driver was arrested and detained at the station, but he kept claiming that he had not even seen the girl before. He said she lied against him. The police said the matter would be charged to court last Monday. As it is, we have taken Bolu to another school. She cannot continue to endure the trauma.”
Our correspondent learnt from a resident that it was Adesina’s alleged denial of the rape that infuriated the mob which attacked the school.

When PUNCH Metro got to the school, a school administrator, who declined to mention his name, said the proprietor, a Reverend, had travelled out of Lagos, and he could not give out his contact.
“The proprietor is unavailable as of now. He has travelled. We do not have any comment,” he said.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, said he would get back to our correspondent on the matter. He, however, had not got back as of press time.

Ex Militant Leader Slaps APC Gov Candidate in Bayelsa

Timipre Sylva, the APC flag bearer in the upcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa state was physically assaulted by an ex-militant leader following a scuffle over who’ll be his deputy, The EagleOnline reports.Since the the former governor emerged as candidate, there have been a relentless battle over who becomes his deputy as the jostle for the slot kept shifting from one supposedly anointed person to the other.
It’s believed that Sylva had all along promised no fewer than six persons his running mate’s slot but none of them has so far been named.
The state Chairman of the APC, Chief Tiwe Oruminigbe, and an ex-militant leader, General Africa, were involved in the fracas.
Orumingbe was one of those initially favoured as he reportedly mobilized all delegates to vote for Sylva at the primary, which he won.
To demonstrate his seriousness, Oruminigbe was said to have gone to Sylva’s Abuja home with ex-militant leader, General Africa, to confront Sylva on the issue.
At the meeting there were a lot of hot verbal exchanges and Sylva was said to have received a hot slap on his cheeks for what was said to be a result of his “deception and betrayal”.
But the open confrontation soon resulted into heated argument and in the process, General Africa was said to have slapped Sylva and a full blown fight erupted.
An eyewitness account said the ensuing fight caused the destruction of some household items.
Following the attack, reports say Sylva as the leader of the APC in Bayelsa State was already plotting to remove Oruminigbe as state chairman.

News News :Catholic Bishop sends serious warning to President Buhari (must read)

t5
A Catholic Bishop and representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, used his Independence anniversary message last week to slam Nigerian political and religious leaders, warning them of actions that could spell doom for the country.
Speaking in Abuja, the Arch Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Joseph Bagobiri, said the main reason Nigeria has not enjoyed peace was because its people have continued the “blind pursuit” of “self-centred and parochial interest”.
“We have since our amalgamation in 1914, and all through our 55 years of independence as a sorrowing state, not been successful in harnessing our plurality; our diversity, into a rainbow of peace and sustainable development,” he said.
“We need Nigeria first, before all the other contending things that we are fighting and struggling for.”
The Bishop charged the new administration to make justice, fairness and equity its watchword, as a means of ensuring the support of Christians and all Nigerians.
“We didn’t have any problem with this government coming into power. We support this government we pray daily for this government. But we advise this government to enthrone justice fairness and equity,” he said.
He urged President Buhari to desist from being tempted to use anti-graft agencies for selfish gains.
“Nigerians are very smart people. Nigerians are very intelligent people. If you are fighting corruption for the sake of corruption, Nigerians understand it,” he warned.
“If we mistakenly give in to the temptation of using government apparatus like the EFCC, the ICPC, and their likes as instruments to scold; instruments of revenge and vendetta, sooner or later we will not be able to go on,” he said.
The Bishop said justice should be preceded by love and humanity.
“Whatever polices we are going to carry out, they must have a human heart guiding them. They must have also a human face,” he said.
Mr. Bagobiri said the actions of the National Assembly towards resource management have negated the principles of brotherliness, and national unity.
The Bishop said Nigeria needs first to strive for the survival of its country, before any material wealth.
He lamented the increased attack on the family, adding that various countries, including Ireland, USA Germany and even South Africa, have enacted diverse laws he said conflict with the proposed plan of God for creation.
He said the Catholic Church in Nigeria will do its best to resist the temptations of the west and called on Vice Presidet Yemi Osinbajo, who attended the service, to ensure that the Buhari administration avoids giving support to same-sex union.

News News : ACCOMPLICE OF FORMER PETROLEUM MINISTER GOES INTO HIDING

The ongoing travails of Nigeria’s former minister of petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, seem to be unraveling so many other new facts every other day.

A report by Sahara Reporters today October 7, claims that an alleged money launderer for the former minister, Kola Aluko has gone into hiding following the arrest of Madueke on October 2.

The former minister and first female president of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), was arrested by the UK National Crime Agency,  and was later released on bail same day.

Her Asokoro, Abuja home was later invaded by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to seal her property, in furtherance to investigations against her.
Today’s report had photos and details of a multi-million dollar home in Switzerland allegedly owned by Aluko, the palatial home is nestled in the beautiful canton of Ticino, in southern Switzerland.
Aluko reportedly fronts for Alison’s alleged shady billion dollar schemes in the oil sector.  Said to be a flamboyant man, Aluko  was said to have gone on a spending spree purchasing villas, expensive cars, and a yacht, dating former supermodel Naomi Campbell, and partying with movie and entertainment stars in the UK, Europe and the US.

The report further stated that Aluko’s  business interests include Atlantic Energy, a firm that received generous oil export contracts from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The former minister was also said to have recommended the award of at least five oil blocks to Atlantic Energy, six months before it was legally established as a company.

Another firm traced to Aluko is Tenka AG, a company based in Zug, Switzerland that was formed in late 2012. Tenka AG is described as a food and hospitality company and owns a capital of 500,000 Swiss francs.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have  expressed their excitement over the arrest of the embattled former petroleum minister, stating that it has been long overdue.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has also not made any comment so far about Dieziani’s travails. In particular, Mr Femi Adesina, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, was quoted as saying: “No comment for now. You can confirm from the security agencies.”

Clark dumps PDP, says Jonathan is weak

According to Punch : A former Federal Commissioner of Information, Chief Edwin Clark, has hailed the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari and knocked former President Goodluck Jonathan for lacking the political will to fight graft.
Clark, who said it was wrong for anyone to accuse President Buhari of fighting a selective war in his drive to return sanity into the polity, also declared that he had formally left the Peoples Democratic Party.
Clark called on Nigerians not to distract the President from achieving his goal, just as he appealed to the President to remain focused in his determination to rid the country of corruption.
The Ijaw leader spoke in Abuja on Wednesday when a group, Think Nigeria First Initiative, paid him a courtesy call in his Abuja residence.
He said, “Jonathan didn’t have the political will to fight corruption. He’s a gentleman. Drivers of yesterday are living in palatial buildings now under his government.
“In advanced countries, when you are living above your means, people query you. That’s not so in Nigeria. Former governors, lawmakers are now asking for immunity.”
Clark, who was a staunch supporter of former President Jonathan, however, said he had quit the PDP. But he said he would not join the governing party, the All Progressives Congress.
He said, “I no longer belong to the PDP. I won’t go to the APC either, but I will continue to talk as an elder statesman and leader of this country. I have left politics.
“If anyone comes to me to say he’s running for any elective position in the PDP or the APC, I won’t support you. I’m not a member of the PDP anymore.”
It was however not clear if Clark quit the party because of the defeat suffered by Jonathan during the last presidential election.
It will be recalled that President Buhari, who was the candidate of the APC, defeated Jonathan, who was the PDP candidate during the election.
Clark also accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of institutionalising corruption in the country.
He had also said that he and other supporters of former President Jonathan were worried because of the outcome of the last presidential election. He, however, added that there was nothing they could do since the former President had conceded defeat.
He said, “Some of us were worried when Jonathan conceded defeat. We were worried. If a man who contested election conceded defeat, who are you to say no?
“Elections had been held, winners had emerged and losers had agreed, what next? Buhari is now my President and the President of Nigeria.
“We should all try and support him, particularly in his determination to eradicate corruption in Nigeria. For eight years Obasanjo legalised corruption.
“Yet, he’s the one talking about corruption today. Nobody should distract Buhari from fighting corruption. People should stop talking about sectional or selective justice.”
Clark said those who ruled the country before Buhari, like the late President Umaru Yar’Adua and Jonathan didn’t have the political will to fight corruption.
He specifically accused Yar’Adua of being a friend to the jailed former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori.
Clark said, “Yar’Adua became friend with Ibori, who is very corrupt and because of this, he could not fight corruption.”
In his reaction to Clark’s dumping of the PDP, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, said the party would want to wish the elder statesman well.
“He is a man we respect so much. If he’s leaving our party and wants to retire from politics, we wish him well,” Metuh said.
