COURT CANCELS MOVEMENT RESTRICTION DURING MONTHLY SANITATION IN LAGOS........

Court Nullifies Movement Restriction During Lagos Monthly Sanitation.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has declared as unlawful the restriction of citizens’ movement during the monthly Lagos enviromental sanitation exercise.

Justice Mohammed Idris, in a judgment delivered on Monday, held that such restriction of movement, in the name of sanitation, amounted to a violation of the citizens’ right to personal liberty and freedom of movement protected by sections 35 and 41 of the Constitution.

He therefore voided the power of the Lagos State Government and its agent to arrest any citizen found moving between 7am and 10am on the last Saturday of every month when the enviromental sanitation exercise is observed.

 Nigerian Troops Clear Boko Haram Members From Goniri, Yobe State.

Nigerian troops fighting the Boko Haram terrorist group in the nation's north-east have taken over Goniri town in Yobe State, clearing terrorists from the location.

 The troops reclaimed the town on Monday morning after clearing the terrorists from the town that it had taken over some months back. The Defence Headquarters in a tweet on Monday said: "Troops have this morning completed clearing terrorists out of Goniri in Yobe State".

 It is the latest breakthrough recorded by the military in its increased counter terrorism operations against the Boko Haram terrorists since the nation's general elections were postponed by six weeks.

Ibinabo Fiberesima was this morning removed as President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on the orders of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.Justice James Tsoho who gave the ruling, said the election was conducted against court order and ordered all parties involved to maintain the status quo.

The suit was filed by an actor, St. Maradona Mikevine, who was the national treasurer in the election that produced another popular actor, Emeka Ike, as AGN president.Mikevine, in his suit, argued that the election that brought Ibinabo into office was conducted in the face of a subsisting court order restraining the conduct of AGN election.

NationalMirror adds that he had urged the court to determine whether it was proper for an election to be conducted in the face of an order to the contrary, and whether anyone could parade himself or herself as AGN executive based on an election conducted against a court order.

The suit that brought about the initial order was filed by Emeka Ike.But Ibinabo who insisted that she was not the one that conducted the election that produced her as AGN president but the AGN board itself, had stressed that Mikevine ought to have channelled his grievance with the election to the Electoral Committee of AGN and not the court.

Ike had filed the suit on July 25, 2013 to contest the formation of an illegal government coined “National Unity,” to run the affairs of the AGN.

 The actor had sought an order of court, reviewing the 2007 Constitution of the guild, as it relates to the tenure of members of board of trustees.

Landlord Rape 8year Old Tenant daughter .

MADAM Bola (surname withheld) moved into a new accommodation at Sakapena, Idi-Arere area of Ibadan, Oyo State about seven months ago but she never envisaged her recent discovery that her eight-year-old daughter (names withheld) could have been having sexual intercourse.

And no other person was accused of involvement than her landlord, Mr Aderemi Babatunde a.k.a Baba Sango, a Sango worshipper.

The landlord, who was initially arrested by detectives from Mapo police station, was transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Iyaganku, Ibadan where he was interrogated by detectives to ascertain his culpability on the allegation against him or otherwise.

Information gathered by Crime Reports revealed that Madam Bola reported at Mapo police station on February 17, 2015 that she left her daughter with a neighbour along the street where she lived while she went to purchase some items.

To her surprise, on her return, she met her daughter at home. In response to her question on why she left the place she was asked to stay, the young girl told her mother that it was Baba Sango who called her to his shrine, pulled off her pants and inserted his finger into her private part. Not yet done, the girl further alleged that the man removed his trousers and put his manhood in her private part.

She stated further that Baba Sango used a black and white handkerchief to wipe her private part and gave the handkerchief to one man she simply called Baba Fila, who used to sell men’s cap. She disclosed that it was not the first time Baba Sango had had carnal knowledge of her, as the action had been going on for some months.

Medical examination conducted at State Hospital, Adeoyo revealed that the girl had a bruised vagina wall with her hymen broken.

But Baba Sango denied the allegation, saying the girl was too young for him to have had sex with her. He also said he had two wives and had no reason to seek pleasure from a girl whose age mates are his own children.

“I am popularly known as Baba Sango because I am a Sango worshipper. I live at Sakapena, Idi Arere in a house that belonged to my grandfather but which I inherited from my father. I have two wives and children from both. I do divination for people and attend to their problems.“

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015, I was at home when my tenant brought policemen and I was taken to Mapo police station. It was there I heard that my tenant reported that her daughter woke her up in the early hours of the day and told her that I had been having carnal knowledge of her since 2014.“

I wondered how an eight-year-old girl would say I was doing such a thing with her and no one would have noticed us and be a witness. I never did anything to the girl; her mother was my tenant,” Baba Sango said.He went further: “

In the early hours of that Tuesday, we just heard the woman beating her daughter. She collided with the door of my wife’s room, which made us wake up with a start. My wife came out to see what was happening, followed by me. When I saw that the beating was meaningless, I went back into the room, and my wife followed me shortly after.

 That was all I knew until I saw police in the afternoon.”Crime Reports pointed at the victim’s consistent statement on the issue and the fact that medical report indicated that the little girl’s hymen had been broken, but Baba Sango replied that he was surprised at the tackles given him by the girl. “Whatever is hidden to man is exposed before God. Nobody can say exactly how this thing happened.

 I have never touched the girl. Even I had never sent her on an errands, since I have my own children. The mother just moved into my house on August 20, 2014.“The girl confronted me with the allegation but I didn’t do anything with her.


 I am ready to swear over this issue,” he replied.On the suspicion that the suspect intended to use the girl for a charm by sleeping with her, Baba Sango continued to deny the allegation, saying it was ridiculous that people would think that he was sleeping with such a young girl.

 Reminded that there had been similar cases in the past involving younger girls, Baba Sango insisted: “I did not do anything with this girl.”Crime Reports learnt that the suspect had been arraigned in court and had been remanded in prison custody until the next adjournment date.

The Lagos state police command have arrested a Muslim cleric, Abdullahi Omobolaji popularly known as Alfa over allegations of sexual assault on a 17 year old girl identified as Idowu at Bakare lane in the Agege area of Lagos state.

When the water finally boiled and I brought it down, I saw two cowries and a ring in the water. He said he must sleep with me three times, and that was how he slept with me. He said I must never tell anyone what happened between us and if I did, I would die just like my father did a few years back"
Idowu said a few days after her first encounter, Alfa called her to go and buy an egg which he instructed her to rub all over her body

Men of the Isokoko Police Division in Agege were later invited and Alfa was arrested last Wednesday, March 11th.

INEC ELECTORAL INSTITUTE GUTTED BY FIRE.......

INEC electoral institute gutted by fire, commission says no sensitive material was destroyed.

The Independent National Electoral Commission’s Electoral Institute in Abuja was gutted by fire around 11pm on Saturday March 13th.

While conducting pressmen around the burnt warehouse, the INEC Director of Security, Mr. Shettima Ngilladar, said only non sensitive materials used in the 2011 election as well as bags, envelopes, election forms and electrical control panel/ switch were destroyed during the fire incident which burned into Sunday 2am.

No material to be used for the 2015 election was destroyed. The fire outbreak was attributed to power surge...


"There was no power and when power was restored and the alarm was heard, security men and the in-house fire fighting men started going round until they discovered smoke coming from the warehouse where we keep our non-sensitive materials.

So, they battled to gain access to the fire to quench it. It started about 11pm and by 2am they were able to put out the fire. Aside our in-house firemen, firemen from FCT Garki and even the NNPC fire service came.

But when they came, the fire was already under control. All these people rallied round to help.
"These are non-sensitive materials that have been banned in the warehouse.

You will see it yourself. It is not hidden. It is something clear, these banned non-sensitive materials have nothing to do with the elections. They are old materials in store that have not been evacuated.

These are old stock of non-sensitive materials, like bags, envelopes, election forms which were used in the 2011 elections. They won’t be used for the 2015 elections. Everything here is non-sensitive.” he said

APC warns PDP: Don't attempt to kill Buhari.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr Lai Mohammed has sounded a warning to the PDP not to attempt to assasinate Gen Buhari or one of its Chieftains, Chief Bola Tinubu as it had allegedly done in the past.

Lai Mohammed, who made the allegation in an interview with Punch yesterday, said any attempt on their lives would lead to consequences that will be very dear for this country.


"I have never seen a government so terrified of elections as this present administration.

 And I have never seen a candidate so terrified of the opposition as Jonathan.
Even as recent as last week, (Ekiti State Governor Ayodele) Fayose was asking for the withdrawal of Buhari from the Presidential election; and it is just bizarre -but that coming from Fayose, one should not be surprising.

 Coming to issue of security, they have made an attempt on his (Buhari) life once before; it can be done again. But, let us warn them that any attempt on the life of Buhari or Bola Tinubu will lead to a consequence that will be very dear for this country. They should not even contemplate it.

”he said In the interview, the APC chairman said the allegation leveled against President Jonathan's administration by Former President OLusegun Obasanjo in December 2013 that they were training sniper men to assassinate opposition politicians was true

"It is true. They were trained in Belarus. They are security agents drawn from the NIA, the DSS, the Police, the Air Force and the Navy. They were trained on how to take out targets without any trace or without being discovered and they will leave the scene quietly.”he said
In a swift reaction, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Abdullahi Jalo dismissed Mr Lai Mohammed's allegations, calling on him to provide evidence to prove that the PDP had intentions of assassinating Gen Buhari

"The PDP is committed to the election peace pact signed in Abuja. We will abide by it. It is a covenant we are determined to keep.

 Having said that, the burden of proof concerning Lai’s allegation rests on him and the party. In the usual manner of whipping up sentiments to deceive Nigerians, they have come up with this propaganda.

Let him and his party provide photo, video, audio or meeting place where a plot to assassinate their presidential candidate was hatched. Nigerians have become wiser today. They cannot be swayed by the APC propaganda machine.

More details on Lekki robbery: how policemen, father of 7 were killed.

12 (or more) men dressed in military fatigue wielding AK47 automatic rifles brought terror to Lekki Phase 1 on Thursday March 12th. They robbed 1 (or 2) banks on Admiralty way and killed 6 (or 7) people. No person in the bank (s) were killed because they cooperated with the robbers. The robbers made away with money in the vaults and even broke the ATM and took all the money there.



The fulfillment of the assurance given by police authorities to arrest the perpetra­tors of the robbery incident that cut short the lives of three policemen and three others in Lekki area of Lagos last Thursday, though may serve as a form of succour to many Nigerians, the bereaved families, particularly that of Inspector Bethel, indigene of Kwale in Delta State and father of seven, will certain­ly need more to survive the tragedy that hit them.

Two other policemen identified as Sergeant George, an Urhobo also from Delta State and Corporal Ikechukwu, a Benin man from Edo State.

Six persons including three mo­bile policemen were killed and sev­eral others seriously injured during the incident which happened on Lekki-Ikoyi Link bridge when the rampaging armed robbers attacked a new generation bank.

Security sources told Sunday Sun that the three policemen were on the escort of some expatriates from Victoria Island to the international airport in Ikeja when they ran into the bandits who had stormed the bank for robbery operation.

Sunday Sun reliably gathered that the escort team decided to fol­low the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge because of the usual heavy traffic on Ozumba Mbadiwe way with the lead driver who carried the for­eigners on a Coaster bus leading the way.


The team, it was learnt, ran into two robbers who were in army camouflage uniform. They were brandishing a submachine gun, which a source said uses ten mag­azines and an AK47 rifle which uses double magazines.

The driver who had no inkling of the danger lurking around was said to have continued with the journey without taking any precautions. “When the entourage got to the second army check point, which was around the FCMB bank being robbed at the time, there were many men in camouflage on standby as if waiting for someone.

“They allowed the Coaster bus to pass but immediately opened fire on the right side of the Hilux Van conveying the police inspec­tor, a Sergeant and a Corporal. The Police inspector who was the lead­er of the escort and the corporal who sat directly behind him were hit by bullets and died instantly.
“Then the first two men in cam­ouflage left behind began to shoot at the Hilux Van. The driver who is a civilian stopped the vehicle, switched off the engine, got down of the truck, raised his hands and ran for his dear life. The Sergeant on the other hand realizing he had been over powered, got down from the truck without his am­munition with his hands raised in the air and attempted to run away from the vehicle. But the rob­bers opened rapid fire on him till they were sure he was dead,” the source revealed.

Sunday Sun further learnt that the Coaster bus driver who saw another check point ahead of him was quick to realize that the area was too hostile and decided to slow down.

“One of the robbers fired at the bus but at that point, two things happened simultaneously. The driv­er of the Coaster bus stopped while a girl selling smoked fish who was running for her life was hit by a bul­let in her forehead which came out through the back and damaged the right side of her head. She fell down in front of the Coaster bus and died instantly. Another civilian was hit by a stray bullet.
Meanwhile, the robbery inside the bank was said they have been carried out quickly without any re­sistance. “People didn’t know of it because they felt the men in army camouflage were there to secure the area
