Jonathan’s men battle Buhari •Ex-ministers write warning letter to president

SOME ministers who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan have warned President Muhammadu Buhari to give the former president his “due respect.”

The former ministers said they had observed that the Buhari administration and members of the All Progressives Congress had been condemning, ridiculing and undermining the efforts of the Jonathan administration.

Jonathan’s ministers said both the President and his party had also been rubbishing the integrity of the individual members of the past administration.

A former Minister of National Planning, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, said this on Sunday in a statement on behalf of other ministers who served under Jonathan.
But the Presidency, while reacting to the Jonathan’s minsters’ statement, on Sunday said Buhari’s war against corruption was not negotiable.
Suleiman said the efforts of the Buhari government had been to portray all members of the Jonathan administration “as corrupt and irresponsible, in an orchestrated and vicious trial by the media,” which he said had created “a lynch mentality that discredits our honest contributions to the growth and development of our beloved nation.”
He said while he and his colleagues believed that each administration had the right to chart its own path, the Kwara State-born former university lecturer said the alleged vilification of the Jonathan administration was ill-intentioned.
The Buhari administration has alleged several fraudulent practices against Jonatha’s ministers, including a recent allegation that the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison Madueke, illegally took $6.9m from the coffers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to fund the bogus purchase of three mobile stages for Jonathan’s public appearances.
The Suleiman statement partly read, “We, the ministers who served under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, have watched with increasing alarm and concern the concerted effort by the Buhari administration and members of the APC to condemn, ridicule and undermine the efforts of that administration, in addition to impugning the integrity of its individual members.
“While we concede that every administration has the right to chart its own path as it deems fit, we nevertheless consider the vilification of the Jonathan administration, to be ill-intentioned, unduly partisan, and in bad faith.
“We are proud to have served Nigeria and we boldly affirm that we did so diligently and to the best of our abilities. The improvements that have been noticed today in the power sector, in national security and in social services and other sectors did not occur overnight.
“They are products of solid foundations laid by the same Jonathan administration.”
He said that contrary to what the APC and its agents would want the public to believe, the Jonathan administration did not encourage corruption, “rather it fought corruption vigorously, within the context of the rule of law and due process.”
“For the benefit of those who may have forgotten so soon, it was the Jonathan administration that got rid of the fraud in fertiliser subsidies, which had plagued the country for decades. This helped to unleash a revolution in agricultural production and productivity,” he added.
Suleiman added that it was also the Jonathan administration that supported the institutional development of strong systems and mechanisms to curb corruption in the public service and plug revenue leakages.

He listed these to include the development of the Government Integrated Financial Management Platform, The Single Treasury Account, and the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Management Systems, in addition to the biometric registration of civil servants and pensioners which he said saved the country over N100bn paid to ghost workers and ghost pensioners.

Apart from that, he said that the Jonathan administration equally ensured greater transparency and integrity in the oil and gas sector by ordering investigations and put mechanisms in place to check the theft of Nigeria’s crude oil.

He said, “It was also under the Jonathan administration that a Nigerian Content policy was introduced, which opened up that sector to Nigerians in a manner that was not previously the case.

“It was also the Jonathan administration that mobilised and secured the support of our neighbouring countries to ensure a robust multinational response to the menace of terrorism and insurgency, resulting in notable advancements in the fight against terror.

“President Jonathan personally initiated the collaboration that led to this advancement and ensured that Nigeria provided the needed financial support for the Multinational Joint Task Force.

“It was the Jonathan administration that repaired and rehabilitated over 25, 000 kilometres of our nation’s roads.
“Nigeria also became a profitable and preferred investment-friendly destination.

“It was under President Jonathan, for example, that Nigeria’s electric power sector became more competitive and attractive to local and foreign investments.”

Suleiman added that the same administration promoted the rule of law, free speech, fundamental human rights, and a robust freedom of information regime.

Apart from that, he said women’s rights to participate in public life and the Federal Character principle as well as other constitutional principles were also respected.

“No administration can be either completely bad or completely good. President Jonathan’s achievements in moving this country to greater heights deserve to be duly acknowledged.
“We urge President Muhammadu Buhari to build on these achievements,” he argued.

He challenged Buhari to be fair and non-partisan in his anti-corruption crusade.
Suleiman added that “the various lies and fabrications being peddled by some self-appointed spokespersons of the administration may entertain the unwary” but added that such sensationalism may achieve the unintended effect of de-marketing the country within the international community.

Suleiman said that he and his colleagues had reserved their comments until now in the hope that the euphoria that inspired the various attacks on the past administration would wear off and that reason would prevail.

“But we are constrained to speak up in defence of the legacy of the Jonathan administration, and shall do so again, for as long as those who are determined to rubbish that legacy, are unrelenting in their usual deployment of blackmail, persecution and similar tactics,” he warned.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, reacting to the Jonathan’s ministers asked the affected persons who he described as “members of the country’s latest trade union formation, the Association of Ex-Jonathan Ministers” to do a bit of self-reflection on the sort of government they handed over to Buhari on May 29.

He said such self-reflection would make the former ministers decide for themselves if it would have been right for any incoming government to ignore the issue of the brazen theft of public assets, which he said appeared to be the first of its kind in the country,
He said, “This war against corruption knows no friend nor foe. There is no intention to deny anyone of their good name where they are entitled to it and President Buhari reserves the highest regards for the country’s former leaders, including Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who he continues to praise to the high heavens for the way and manner in which he accepted defeat in the last election.

“That singular action remains a feat that has earned the former President and Nigeria as country befitting commendations all over the world, the latest coming from Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who visited a week ago.

“For the purpose of emphasis, the issue of fighting corruption by President Buhari is not negotiable.

“It is sine qua non to the overall reconstruction of the economy and social systems, which suffered destruction and severe denigration under the last administration.

“President Buhari will not be deterred or blackmailed into retreat and surrender.”

Presidency says 'GEJ’s Probe Is Nonnegotiable :

According to PM News, the senior special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said the presidency had made it clear that the fight against corruption was not narrowed to a particular group but was a quest to retrieve the country’s stolen loot.
This was made known in a statement issued by Shehu on Sunday, August 30 in which he also said that President Buhari had the highest regard for Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat after the election. He said the action earned the former president global respect but insisted that the war against corruption was nonnegotiable.
The statement read: “This war against corruption knows no friend nor foe. There is no intention to deny anyone of the their good name where they are entitled to it and that President Buhari reserves the highest regards for the country’s former leaders, including Dr. Jonathan Goodluck who he continues to praise to the high heavens for the way and manner in which he accepted defeat in the last election.
“This singular action remains a feat that has earned the former president and Nigeria as country befitting commendations all over the world, the latest coming from Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who visited a week ago.
“For the purpose of emphasis, the issue of fighting corruption by President Buhari is non-negotiable. It is sine-qua-non to the overall reconstruction of the economy and social systems which suffered destruction and severe denigration under the last administration.
President Buhari will not be deterred or blackmailed into retreat and surrender.
“No one in the PDP can accuse President Buhari of undermining the economy when all they handed over to him is at best, a tottering economy hobbled by corruption and the absence of due process. All he has been doing while around is to put things together, organizing to defeat Boko Haram, paying outstanding salaries, cleaning up the mess left behind, improving security and restoring our relationships with neighbors and the world.
“So what are former ministers afraid of in these things? Have they become a new trade union? Let this collection of ex-VIPs allow the President the peace he needs to handle the reconstruction of the economy and the nation in a manner that most serves Nigeria’s best interests. President Buhari does not need these types of distraction presented by the so-called association of former ministers.”
Meanwhile,  in the manner in which President Buhari is going about the probe of the previous administration.
The ex-ministers have urged Buhari to show respect to Jonathan in his actions and utterances as a former president of Nigeria, who paved the way for his emergence.

Cossy Orjiakor says 'I'm Looking For Husband'

The actress, who does not see any big deal in acting nude according to her, has described herself as “highly spiritual”.
In a new interview with Ovwe Medeme, Cossy said a lot of things that might interest you. She talked about her current projects, marriage and some of the controversies surrounding her career.
Career-wise, how has it been with you?
Career-wise, I have been doing very good.  You know it is not a competition so I just go at my own pace.
A lot of things have been said or written about you, but who would you like people to know you as?
I am a very deep person; I am a very spiritual person. I love people who love me and I don’t really care about what they say about me.
Does it affect you in any way?
It doesn’t affect me in any way when people I don’t care about talk about me. I try to make my anger so expensive that people can’t afford it, except people I love.
There are those who say that you intentionally generate controversy so that you will always be in the news. How would you respond to that?
It is not about intentionally generating controversy. When I’m happy, when I want to have fun, the way I have fun might be controversial for some because like right now, I came out to work and I’m looking all good but if I’m going to a party, you don’t expect me to be formal. You should also understand that what other people wear, when I wear it, it comes out different. There are different things that make me happy some people do drug but me I just like playing with my physique and playing with my attires. So that is the kick I get.
Your sexuality is always in the public eye. Are you comfortable with that?
I am very comfortable with myself. I love myself to bits. I love everything about me. I have no regrets.
People tend to know you more with your natural endowments…
(cuts in) When you talk about people, the truth is that, I don’t really care. I am having fun. Life is short. So I just do my thing. If you keep listening to people, you will just change your destiny. You won’t be able to achieve what you want. Then when you get old, you will be very annoying and irritable. Live your life. Don’t bother about all those people, especially when there is no particular name attached to these people.
How do you catch fun?
I love listening to music. I love dressing up. I love going out. Generally, I love doing things that make me happy.
Where does your music career stand as of today?
Like I always say when people ask me this question, I’m not in a competition with anybody. I’m doing good all by myself. You know, I have a good friend. He is a big name in this industry. Any money he gets, he uses it to shoot expensive videos and yet, this guy doesn’t even have a car.
Why would somebody stress themselves just because they want to be on TV all the time? It’s expensive to promote music so if you do one a year, it is not a bad thing. It depends on how you cut out your life but I always suggest. If you are an up and coming, always make sure you have other things you do. Don’t rely on just one source of income. That is why we have five fingers in each hand. Try to get like five things that will keep you very busy and will make money for you.
Are you working on an album?
My dear, again, let me repeat it. I am not in a competition with anybody. I have a studio in my place. I bought all the equipment needed for movie production. Anything that makes me happy, I just get it.
How would you describe your sense of style?
My sense of style all depends on what and how I feel. So if I feel like being sexy, I know what to do. If I am going for an interview, I know how to dress.
How do you relate with your fans?
I love my fans. I can do anything for them.
Some of them are wondering when you will be getting married…
I’m looking for husband o! Will you marry me? (laughs)
If I agree to marry you, what are some of the qualities you will use to rate me?
(laughs) That is a very private question…

News News: IYC accuses Buhari says 'You’ve hidden agenda against Jonathan'

Ijaw Youths Council has called on President Muhammadu BUhari to extend his anti-corruption war to 1999 to cover the Obasanjo era so as to be taken seriously over his anti-corruption war.
The Ijaw youths, who are kinsmen of Jonathan, wondered why Buhari should skip the Obasanjo era and concentrate his probe on Jonathan’s administration, accusing him of having a hidden agenda against their son.
The National President of the IYC, Udengs Eradiri, who signed the statement released in Abuja last night, said it was suspicious for Buhari to choose to probe only the Jonathan’s administration and leave out Obasanjo.
The IYC noted that for the Buhari regime to be taken seriously in the anti-corruption war, the President must extend the probe to 1999 so as to probe the Obasanjo government and recover stolen wealth carted away at that time.
The IYC pointed out that while they were not opposed to the probe, they were however not happy that Obasanjo was being excluded from the probe because of the support he gave to Buhari during the last election.
“While we are not against any effort of the President to investigate previous administrations and indeed take steps against the scourge of corruption in the society, we hereby state without equivocation that the period covered by this probe is a suspect.
“It would have made a lot of sense for somebody who is genuinely interested in revisiting alleged cases of malfeasance which has held our nation back to either commence such an investigation from 1960 when the country became independent or from 1999 when Nigeria became a democracy after years of military dictatorship.
“The President’s decision to leave out the eight-year period covered by the Presidency of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, from 1999 to 2007, suggests that the current anti-corruption crusade is being manipulated to spare some sacred cows. We hold that this is unfair and that the tenure of Chief Obasanjo is being exempted because of the role he played in Buhari emergence as President.
“In fact, if there is somebody that should be probed, it should be Chief Obasanjo who lacked foresight and failed in the critical job to adequately arm our military, in spite of the huge funds appropriated for defence under him. If he had done so, the menace of Boko Haram would have long been dealt with in the early stages. It took the administration of Goodluck Jonathan to buy the weapons we need.
“This plan to exempt other leaders from the probe, if not corrected, could send out signals that the President may have come up with an anti-corruption crusade designed to protect Nigeria’s biggest crooks and to deal with perceived enemies.
“The President should be reminded that some of Nigeria’s biggest corruption-related scandals which culminated in the jailing of some foreign collaborators took place during this period that is being deftly exempted from the current investigation.
“A genuine crusade against corruption cannot take place in this country without touching some of these great scandals that are waiting to be addressed.
“It defies logic that our Dear President by this particular decision, appears to have drawn the curtain on the bribery scandal involving the six billion Dollars Liquidified Natural Gas Contract in Bonny, the KBR and Siemens Bribery Scandal, the Halliburton Bribery Scandal, which involved billions of Naira among others.
“The President should be graciously reminded that while the then Administration looked the other way, the United States Department of Justice fined a Japanese Construction Firm, Marubeni, to the tune of $54.6 million for bribing officials of the Nigerian Government to facilitate the award of the NLG Contract to TSKJ.
“Avoiding a probe into the historical corruption scandals of monumental proportions between 1999-2007 would portray our President as a man lacking in courage to confront the monster of corruption.
“This is the better thing to do rather than probing a dead man in the person of Late President Umaru Yar’ Adua,” the youth group noted.

Go and defend yourself, Wike tells Amaechi

RIVERS State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has called on his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, to go and defend himself before the judicial commission of inquiry sitting in the state.

Wike, who was reacting to Amaechi’s declaration on Saturday that he (Amaechi) would not appear before the Justice George Omereji-led panel of inquiry, said it was wrong for the former governor to describe the commission as illegal even when the court had ruled that the panel was in order.

The governor, who spoke on Sunday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said he would not take issues with Amaechi over the setting up of the judicial commission of inquiry.

Wike stressed that it was necessary for Amaechi to defend himself on certain issues concerning how the state was managed during his tenure.
The incumbent governor recalled that a former governor, Dr. Peter Odili, appeared before a panel of inquiry.

Wike had set up the panel to probe the sale of state’s assets and other related matters by the immediate past administration.

Amaechi had told his supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress in Port Harcourt that Wike failed to comply with the laws setting up an administrative panel and, as such, would not appear before it (panel).

Wike explained that the former governor was put to shame when the court pronounced that nothing was wrong with the setting up of a judicial commission of inquiry to probe the immediate past administration.

“It is laughable that Amaechi would call a panel that has already been declared lawful by a court of law illegal. This means that as of when he questioned its proprietary in court, he thought the court would declare it illegal but was shamed.

“This is no media trial and the government (Rivers) will not be embroiled in any war of attrition. He (Amaechi) should go and defend himself just like Dr. Peter Odili did during the Kayode Esho panel,” Wike said.

He, however, dismissed the allegations against him by Amaechi, adding that trying to whip up sentiment in the media will not help the former governor.

According to him, “Media trial will not vindicate him as the sentiment he is trying to whip up has failed. Wike has no skeleton in his cupboard.

“We will not take issues with a paradox like Amaechi who claims in one forum that he left N7.5bn (in the state’s coffers) and in another, he said 10bn.”

Donu Kogbara, Vanguard columnist, kidnapped yesterday in PH by gunmen

According to reports, popular Vanguard newspaper columnist and broadcaster, Donu Kogbara, was kidnapped from her home in the Nkpogu area of Port Harcourt early Sunday morning, August 30 by gun men who drove in a CRV SUV. The reason for her kidnap is unknown and no ransom has been demanded for her release by her abductors.

Bala Rabe says President should build special prisons for corrupt Nigerians'

During the time of the former governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, him and most of his colleagues lived a moderate lifestyle life due to the fact that corruption was  minimal.

In an interview with Vanguard newspaper he was asked how he felt about Governors and other people in politics who use their positions to amass wealth while in public office.
The former Gov said:
"I feel bad because these are resources that should be used to liberate the people and  provide welfare and security for them. It is even more worrisome that in most places those in power have not provided even the basic things for their subjects while they swim in opulence and mindless extravagance, creating a big gap between them and those who elected them into office. That is directly responsible for the negative things the nation is grappling with today characterized by unemployment, poverty, insecurity and lose of confidence in public service.
"That is why I strongly advise President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently build special prisons for those people as a matter of urgent national interest.
The danger is that if he does not go after those who stole so much from the nation's treasury, these malevolent elements could use the ill-gotten wealth to topple Nigeria. Many of them are believed to have stolen as much as trillions of Naira and stashed away in foreign accounts. A recent report revealed that some crooked Nigerians might have stolen more than the annual budget of Nigeria.
Let them go to prison. In fact I would advise him to build special prisons for those who plundered Nigeria because it has to be done.
If you allow these thieves to continue stealing and eventually controlling political power in the country, you will lead this country to destruction, anarchy, sustained instability, military coup and social revolution.
That is why I strongly advise Buhari to go the whole hug in dealing with those who plundered Nigeria's wealth.

premiere Mikel secretly fathers two children from different women.

Premier League star John Obi Mikel has fathered two secret love children with different women, reports The Sun on Sunday.
The Chelsea midfielder, 28, has a four-year-old son who was born after he had a brief fling with the lad’s mum.
He also has a one-year-old daughter by a woman he met in a nightclub two years ago.

BABY No1
Sex:  Male
Age:  4
Mother:  Woman Mikel invited to a party and had a brief fling with.
Home:  £500,000 house in Home Counties he bought for the mother.
Upkeep:  He gives the mum several thousand pounds a year and a new car every 3 years.
BABY No2
Sex:  Female
Age:  1
Mother:  Woman he met in a trendy London nightclub in 2013 and had a short relationship with.
Home:  Child lives with mother in South of England. Mum is not well off but drives a new car.
Upkeep:Mikel provides for the child but is said to want no contact with her.
Nigeria international Mikel, whose team were beaten at home by Crystal Palace on Saturday, is now dating Russian businesswoman Olga Diyachenko and has posted online photographs of the pair together.
The footballer — paid about £80,000 a week — is not named on his son’s birth certificate, but bought a house in the Home Counties where the boy lives with his mother.
Mikel paid more than £500,000 for the detached property in 2013.
He is said to have expressed a desire to play a part in the boy’s life — even though he at first refused to believe he was the dad.
However Mikel is not believed to see his baby daughter, who lives with her 23-year-old mother in the South of England.
Both women are supported financially by the player, but it is not thought they know about each other.
A source revealed Mikel, a role model to legions of fans of Chelsea and Nigeria, did not believe the boy was his when first told by his mum.
The source said: “They met ages ago when John invited her — and a friend, I think — to an after-party after some London celebrity event.
“She got together with John briefly and ended up pregnant.
“She got in touch with John and told him about it, but he initially refused to accept or believe the baby was his. His name was not on the birth certificate.
“After the baby was born there were some negotiations about it. He then agreed to pay her a decent amount of money. She was allocated money to buy a house.”
The mum moved to the Home Counties after the property purchase. Our source added: “John also agreed to give her tens of thousands a year in upkeep and, I think, agreed to give her a new car every three to five years.
“He said he wanted to play a role in the boy’s life.
He and the mum are on friendly terms and she doesn’t harbour any bad feelings towards him, perhaps because he’s looked after her so well.
“When you think about it, it is not that surprising John has not moved away from Chelsea.
“I have read things about him going, possibly abroad, but the people saying that might happen would not know that he has a son and a daughter in the UK.”
When his son was two, Mikel had a short relationship with the mother of his daughter after apparently meeting her at a nightclub in London during 2013.
The girl was born last year, but again Mikel’s name did not appear on her birth certificate.
A friend of the tot’s mother said: “John has provided for her and the girl, but does not seem to want to be involved with the child.
“She is not from a well-off family and does not now earn much, but she drives around in a new car.
“She seems to have come into money since having the baby and is keeping a low profile.”
Mikel, a huge name in his native Nigeria, has spoken previously about his love life and about how difficult it is to find a wife and the importance of his family at home.
Recent photos show him with Olga in his car, while there are also pictures of his two rottweiler dogs Troy and Diva. He is also seen relaxing in his swimming pool and sitting at a kitchen table.
Talking to journalists in Nigeria last October, he said: “I’ve been dating seriously for two years now, I’m in love. I’ve found love.”
However he has denied being engaged to Olga and vowed to reveal if he popped the question.
Mikel, who has a lavish home in Oxshott, Surrey, said: “She is my girlfriend but I have not proposed to her. If that happens it will not be hidden and everyone will know.”
Talking of how jealous women had attacked Olga on social media, he added: “I’m begging Nigerian girls to please leave her alone.”
The star, left on the bench by Chelsea boss José Mourinho for yesterday’s defeat, has played more than 300 times for the Blues since joining the champions in 2006.
In an interview for Chelsea TV, he spoke about the importance of family. Mikel, whose father Michael was kidnapped then freed in August 2011, said: “Never forget where you’re from. I spend lots of time with my family.
“Every time I go back I spend lots of time with them (friends) and spend lots of time with my family.”
Talking about growing up, he added: “When you start growing up you start to think what’s really important to me and my family.”
He added about his father’s ordeal: “My dad being kidnapped was terrible, that was the hardest. My mum was on the phone crying, my brother was crying — I had to be the strong one.”
In an interview last month the player said he wanted to stay at Chelsea because the club felt “like my family”.
A spokesman for the footballer said of the lovechildren: “This is an entirely private matter. John provides for and cares for his children and will continue to do so. He asks that their privacy be respected.”

Congregation chases pastor from church for impregnating member.

There was commotion on Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Mafoluku, in the Oshodi area of Lagos as members of the church rejected their pastor and chased him away for allegedly impregnating his housemaid.

It was learnt that the pastor, Barkuma Andrew, was stopped from leading the church seven months ago when the housemaid, who was also a member of the church, Grace, had complications after aborting the pregnancy.
Andrew lives with his wife, children, wife’s cousin, Favour, and Grace in a three-bedroomed flat on the church premises.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the members had petitioned the Central Conference of the church in Taraba State to investigate the alleged atrocity. They, however, sought the service of another pastor three weeks ago when the district reportedly failed to probe Andrew.
Our correspondent learnt that members had come to church around 10am for Sunday service only to see that Andrew and some “unknown” people had commenced the service.
It was gathered that the development resulted in a breach of the peace as Andrew and his group were chased out of the church.
Men from the Makinde Police Division, including the DPO, were said to have intervened after the incident was reported at the station.
A member of the church and a former secretary to Andrew, Moses Sherima, told our correspondent that the pastor sent his wife to her village when he impregnated Grace.
He said, “My room is opposite pastor’s apartment and I was his secretary. When he started dating that girl (Grace), I called his wife’s cousin, Favour, on the matter. She said Grace used to tell her whenever the pastor had sex with her.
“At a point, I had to move upstairs when I could no longer bear it. The day that abortion happened, I was sleeping inside my room when I heard Grace screaming. I rushed there and saw blood coming out from her private parts. When the wife came back from one of her numerous journeys, he told her to send Favour away.”
Another church member, John Komboroh, said the church was embarrassed by Andrew’s conduct, adding that they were tired of his leadership.
He said, “The petition of adultery against the pastor had been sent to the bishop at the Central Conference. He came here, but did not do anything about it. That was why we wrote to the main body, the Southern Conference to give us another pastor. His (Andrew’s) action is an embarrassment to us. We don’t want him again.”
The new pastor of the church, Reverend James Sunday, said, “We were about to start our service this morning when we met the old pastor and some unknown people already holding the service. I calmed down my people to avoid chaos.”
Another resident and a female member, who identified herself only as Blessing, said the pastor had once made sexual advances to her.
“My husband is not always at home. The pastor would call me in the night and asked if I had slept. One day he entered my room and gave me a soft slap on my back. I had only the wrapper on me.
“I was surprised and told my neighbours.”
When contacted on the telephone around 1pm on Sunday, Andrew said he was in a meeting and promised to get back to our correspondent on the incident.
He told PUNCH Metro that he was still at the meeting when he was called back around 5pm.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Patricia Amadin, had yet to reply to a message sent to her line as of press time.

Check what Uzodimma tells ex-wife,I 'm through with you ...says I'm set to marry again.

Ewwwww
Imo West Senator, Hope Uzodimma, has stated that he won't reconcile with his former wife, Augusta, because their marriage has been legally dissolved by the Court and the Catholic Church about 17 years ago. He said a Lagos High Court Ikeja presided over by Justice Bayo Manuwa and the Catholic Canon Tribunal of Orlu Diocese Catholic Church in Imo State where the marriage was initially consummated have dissolved the marriage after irreconcilable issues in 1998.

Uzodimma in a statement in Abuja said the dissolution by the Catholic Church has been granted by the Catholic Papal's Dispensation. The Senator was reacting to the purported alarm raised by Augusta in which she called on the Catholic Church and all concerned not to recognize the his planned second marriage. He wondered why the former wife would suddenly wake up from her slumber after 17 years to raise unnecessary alarm.

According to him, the dissolution of the marriage having broken down irretrievably, followed all due processes (legal and Canon laws) "as we have a judgement Absolute from the High Court and also a judgement Absolute from the Catholic Tribunal".

He said because of the love for his children, he would not go into the details of what led to the dissolution and that as a responsible man, "I have not abandoned Augusta whom I have continued to meet her needs, being the mother of my children". Uzodimma accused his political detractors who having failed at all fronts to drag his name to the mud, have now resorted to conscript Augusta to champion their cause." I see the handiwork of my political detractors in this", he added.

The Senator called for calm and urged his friends and teeming supporters to disregard the action of Augusta as she is manipulated by political detractors.

Wife snapped and smashes alarm clock over husband's head after he asks for a goodnight kiss,. WOW!!!!

A wife smashed an alarm clock over her husband's head after he asked for a goodnight kiss.
Kathryne Borthwick, 26 - who met husband Monty, 59, online - flew into a rage after a drinking spree.

A judge heard Mr Borthwick took off his shirt in the bedroom and demanded: "What about my goodnight kiss?"

Prosecuting lawyer Tim Dracass said: "She picked up an alarm clock and started to hit him with it.
"The clock broke.
"Mrs Borthwick then grabbed her husband's mobile and began hitting his head."

The court heard Mr Borthwick begged "Please, please" as blood ran down his head and his furious wife swore and threw his CDs around their Portsmouth home.

An ambulance was called at 9.45pm and Mr Borthwick was left with two cuts to his head after the attack on April 18.

Mrs Borthwick, who arrived to the UK from The Philippines last year, admitted assault with actual bodily harm and was given a 12-month community order.

The court heard that Mr Borthwick did not want his wife to be charged but that it was not the first time she had behaved in this way after drinking.

Portsmouth crown court heard she had quit drinking and the pair wanted to forget the "nightmare".

Judge Roger Hetherington said: "For some reason, which is something of a mystery, you flew at him in a rage hitting him with whatever came to hand."
