Photos from a Nude Annual Virgin Dance that Holds in Abiriba Kingdom

Sorry, these are kids. So I have masked their breasts. I hear the virgin dance is called Obina Dance of Abiriba Iri Ndi (new yam) festival. Please if you have ever witnessed it, let’s read your experience.

It is an annual dance by the maidens of Amanta in Ameke community of Abiriba Kingdom, called Nmaku Eziali maidens. These maidens are also believed to be Virgins, pure and undefiled by any man. They are the only ones allowed to perform this sacred dance and any maiden who is not a virgin from this clan dare not participate in the dance. Although I cannot categorically tell you the repercussion if such happens.

They also say the dance period is the time that the young girls who are now ripe enough for marriage show off their beautiful figures and dancing prowess to young men from Amanta and other
prospective husbands from other communities making up the Abiriba Kingdom.

There is usually great excitement heralding this dance especially to the young men who sees it as an opportunity to get their brides, as some of them will tie palm fronds on the legs of their desired brides. That is called # Igbai Omu# in the traditional Abiriba language, signifying that the maiden had been taken and other suitors should steer clear and the young man (men) will now take up the marriage proceedings from there.

The dance usually starts as early as 6 a.m at the Obina Dance Square in Amanta with the Nmaku Eziali Maidens leading the troupe, looking beautiful in their # okara akpuru ikpakpa# a type of wrapper designed with corn seeds, with their beads on their waists and nzu (local chalk)designing their bodies.

Civilisation and the embrace of Christianity has reportedly changed so many aspects of this dance as in the olden days, the maidens used to dance stark naked showing off their erect and pointed breasts ! Supriseeeeeeed? Though you can still see some of the maidens showing off their breasts while their womanhood is perfectly covered. The dance is called OBINA NDE AMANTA.

I had to do what I had to do; all work and no play makes Chika a dull girl so I made it compulsory to take a vacation yearly to relax and make myself happy.  Even if it might annoy some people but I don’t really care; I just want to be happy.

It was rumoured that a sugar daddy sponsored the trip?

Wow! People said all that? I didn’t hear-o. Well, I guess they forget that I’m an Ambassador to different brands. I earn my money. I have a store called Fancy Nancy. I’m business woman, actress and lots more. So I make my money and deserve to be happy. I owe my success to God and constant hard work

Afghan couple stoned to death on adultery charges

An official said Sunday, a couple accused of adultery was stoned to death by armed militants in northern Afghanistan.

“A couple was found guilty of adultery charges during a Taliban court hearing in Qalai Sorkh area of Sozma Qala district,” said Hamid Elmi, head of media relations department in the governor’s office in northern province of Sar-i-Pol.

Elmi said that Sozma Qala was a volatile district of the Taliban controlled province, and that the government could not do anything to alter the situation.

Taliban extremists practice public executions as part of their legal system in the districts where they have wrested control from the central government.

Two weeks ago, a young boy and girl were publicly punished for adultery charges in central province of Ghor.

The couple received 100 lashes each by order of a local court after they were found guilty of having illegal contact with one another.

FG’s single account deadline: N2.6trn govt deposits in 20,000 bank accounts to be closed this week

As the Federal Government moves to enforce Treasury Single Account (TSA) this week, there are indications that over 20,000 different bank accounts run by federal ministries and 600 government federal agencies would be clamped.

Sunday Vanguard learnt the agencies’  accounts are holding about N2.6 trillion in 20 banks contrary to the initial estimate of about N1.24 trillion reported in Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) second quarter 2015 report. The report had indicated that less than 10 per cent of banking industry’s N13 trillion total deposits are public sector funds.

But a top executive of one of the affected banks said, at the weekend, that the CBN report was based on the returns’ renditions by banks which had substantially under-reported public sector proportion of their deposits in order to head-off the impact of the apex bank’s dual Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) policy which was then heavily skewed against public sector deposits. He said that public sector deposits in banks should be more than double what was reported then.

He pointed out that if government decides to implement the policy strictly, there will be serious liquidity crisis as the top six banks in the public sector deposits control about 70 per cent of total money market liquidity.

However, he noted that the policy is presently predominantly Federal Government account as most states are not eager to toe that line, thereby giving some of the banks a breathing space.
