How devastating. A New York City mother has been arrested for allegedly murdering her 2-year-old son after she locked herself and her child in the bathroom of a Manhattan restaurant.

This is utterly heartbreaking. A New York City woman, Latisha Fisher, 35, was arrested on March 30 for allegedly killing her 2-year old son, Gavriel Ortiz, in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant.
New York City Mother Kills Son, 2, In Restaurant Bathroom
The police were called to the 5 Boro Burger in Midtown Manhattan around 2:25pm in response to a call, claiming that Latisha had locked herself in the restaurant’s bathroom.
Prior to then, a woman had walked into the restroom and allegedly saw Latisha holding her hand over Gavriel’s mouth, reports theNew York Daily News.
Latisha told the woman she was trying to “put him to sleep,” and soon thereafter, she locked the door.Cops and restaurant workers worked to finally get into the bathroom.
Inside, they found Gavriel unconscious in his mother’s lap, foaming at the mouth. A male employee performed CPR until the paramedics arrived, reports the Daily Mail.
Despite these efforts to save his life, Gavriel was pronounced dead after arriving at the nearby Bellevue Hospital.Currently, Latisha remains in police custody.
Witnesses told the Daily News that she looked “soulless” while being arrested. Latisha’s Lower East Side neighbors, speaking to the Daily News, described her as violent and that her apartment often smelled of marijuana.
