Hello guys,
Brave Mom, 27, With Skin Cancer Warns About Danger Of Tanning Graphic Pic
Tawny Willoughby used to be a huge fan of tanning. But now, she’s suffering from skin cancer. And in an effort to inspire women to protect themselves and their skin, she posted a graphic photo of her skin condition on Facebook. See it here.
Tawny Willoughby is putting on a brave face, as she spreads her message about the dangers of tanning beds. The Kentucky native, who is now a mother to a 2-year-old son, was diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of 21.
In order to prevent others from being a “statistic,” Tawney, now 27, took to Facebook on April 25 and candidly displayed the scabs and blisters that have taken over her face. If anyone needs a little motivation to not lay in the tanning bed and sun here ya go! This is what skin cancer treatment can look like,” Tawny wrote on herFacebook page next to a picture that showcases the immutable damage caused by tanning beds.
As Tawny explained, “I did the bulk of my tanning in high school. I probably laid an average of 4-5 times a week (I laid frequently because my tan faded very fast).
I never laid in the tanning bed and in the sun in the same day.”In addition to undergoing procedures to treat five incidents of basal cell carcinoma, Tawny also visits the dermatologist every 6-12 months, where “she usually has a skin cancer removed at each checkup.”
She also counted her blessings in her moving message on social media, since she has not been diagnosed with melanoma.“Don’t let tanning prevent you from seeing your children grow up.
That’s my biggest fear now that I have a two-year old little boy of my own,” urged the new mom.
