Federal Government of Nigeria Investigate the Operations of DSTV.

The federal government of Nigeria has begun investigating the operations of the Digital Satellite Television (DStv) based on complaints of alleged consumer rights violations.

According to a statement released yesterday by the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) the investigative panel set up to address the issue had started sitting.
CPC’s director general Mrs Dupe Atoki said the investigation had been instituted on the strength of series of complaints received by the council on the services of the pay-television firm.

CPC said the complaints included poor quality of service, incessant disruption of service without compensation while subscription ran, wrongful abrupt disconnection of service during subsisting subscriptions, monthly subscriptions lasting less than 30 days and poor redress mechanism.
