Man arrested for allegedly selling petrol in residence


Police Rapid Response Squad in Lagos State has arrested a man for allegedly turning his residence into petroleum product sales depot.
Squad Commander, ACP Olatunji Disu, made this known in a statement in Lagos on Thursday.
The statement said the suspect was arrested at 24, Awoseyin Street, Somolu, on Wednesday.
Disu said the operatives acted on a tip off that the suspect and one Adeola, sold petrol and diesel inside the house in spite of objection by co-tenants.
“In a special operative d-coy and to ascertain the information received, some officers acted as prospective buyers of fuel.
“The suspect was about to sell petrol to them from drum stationed in the passage of house when other policemen in uniform stormed the spot.
“The suspect was in the habit of selling petroleum product to members of public inside face-me-I-face you building.
“He claimed he was a commercial bus driver before he was introduced into bunkering’’, said the statement.
