Murder Crime : A Teenager stabs friend to death at Kuramo club


A teenager, Ibrahim Ogunkoya alias “National,” has been arraigned before a Lagos Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting at Ebute-Metta, Lagos for alleged murder.
Ogunkoya, who resides at Block 336, Flat 4, Jakande Estate, Lekki is facing two count charges bordering on conspiracy and murder.

It was gathered that the deceased and the defendant were both friends and footballers.

A fight ensued between them in a club house at Lekki which led to the death of the deceased when he was stabbed. 
However, the defendant who claimed to be innocent of the offence said he did not know anything about the death of his friend, Toyin.

The charges read: “That you, Ibrahim Ogunkoya ‘m’ and others at large on the 10th day of March, 2015 at about 1915hrs at Small Kuramo, along Lekki Beach Road, Lekki Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: murder and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 231 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

“That you, Ibrahim Ogunkoya and others at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did unlawfully kill one Eniola Toyin ‘m’ age 18years by stabbing him with a kitchen knife on his left armpit and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011”.

He pleaded not guilty. The chief magistrate, Mrs. Erusiafe Fowowe ordered that the defendant should be remanded in prison custody pending the advice from the DPP advice. The case was adjourned till October 19, 2015.
