Police nab man promised N50k to kill a pregnant woman and remove her foetus



Edet Asuquo, 28, an oyster dealer from Ikot Otu, Akwa Ibom State, has been arrested for murdering his pregnant customer on Jan. 11, 2015. Asuquo, having sold the first part of the oysters to the woman, lured her to his home claiming that he had more at a cheaper rate. .

At his home, he killed her and hid her corpse. Luck however, ran out on him as his sister reported the matter to their elder brother, who invited the police. Asuquo, confessed to the crime, saying a leader in his village gave a job to him and his 4 friends, now at large, to kill a pregnant woman for N250,000 so that he could use her head the foetus for rituals. .

His words: We are 5 that were asked to kill a pregnant woman so that her head and her unborn child would be removed and used for ritual purpose. He told us that after we have carried out the job, he will give each one of us N50,000. He did not give us any advance payment.
