Shocking But True :UNILAG Lecturer Tears Woman’s Cloth at Petrol Station

A lecturer with the University of Lagos, Mr Arthur Avwokeni Joseph, was recently detained at Alade Police Station, Somolu, Lagos State after he allegedly fought a lady at petrol station and tore her clothes.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Joseph, 47, who works at the Business Administration Department of the university, went to a filling station along Fola Agoro Road, Somolu to buy fuel when there was an altercation between him and 28-year old Adeparusi Yetunde over who should buy the product first.

Joseph was alleged to have alighted from his car and told Yetunde that if she were one of his students he would have dealt with her.

After the threat and further exchange of words between them, Joseph allegedly slapped Yetunde and in the ensuing scuffle her clothes were also torn. Joseph also seized Yetunde’s cell phone while Yetunde seized some of his books.

Investigations by PMNews revealed that after the incident, Joseph went to Alade police station and reported the incident. When asked of the whereabouts of Yetunde, he said he did not know.
He was then asked to write a statement and while writing the statement, Yetunde’s phone that was with Joseph rang and when the police picked the call and asked if she was the owner, she said yes and she was asked to come to Alade Police station where it was discovered that her clothes were torn.

According to a source at the station, Joseph and Yetunde were both detained after they wrote their statements but were later granted bail.

5000 naked people to protest in Nairobi ahead of Pres. Obama's visit

Members of the Republican Liberty Party have threatened to mobilize “approximately 5,000 totally naked men and women to protest over Obama’s open and aggressive support for homosexuality”.

In a letter addressed to the Administration Police Commandant, the party, together with its 5,000 naked Kenyans are set to throng the streets of Nairobi on 22nd and 23rd of this month is protest of growing support for homosexuality.

Obama’s planned visit to Kenya has created a huge hype among Kenyan’s of all walks of life. However, his stand on homosexuality has sharply divided the nation with the majority of them warning against pro-gay rhetoric in a country that prides itself for being conservative regarding the topic of marriage.

If you can recall, Kristen and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson dated some time ago when she had an affair with her married "Snow White" director Rupert Sanders while both Kristen and Robert were still an item.

Well, this is what Kristen is saying now. She tells the magazine: "I lit my universe on fire, and I watched it burn,"

Within the magazine, Kristen Stewart also revealed that those Twilight years were actually very traumatic for her unknowing to fans. She says: "Speaking very candidly, the Twilight years were a really traumatic period in my early twenties that kick-started something in me that was a bit more . . . feral, I'm really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater. That's a new thing for me. Age has made me smarter and calmer. And it is f--king awesome."

She continued by saying: "Between ages 15 and 20, it was really intense. I was constantly anxious. I was kind of a control freak. If I didn't know how something was going to turn out, I would make myself ill, or just be locked up or inhibited in a way that was really debilitating."

Robert Pattinson, Kristen's ex has since gotten engaged to singer FKA Twigs and is preparing for marriage.

"Was at Firstbank Udu road branch in Warri yesterday, when suddenly the bank bullion van and police escort was coming on high speed on a wrong lane. Is a double lane road but the bullion van was on the wrong lane with the police avoiding to go and turn a few meters from the bank. Suddenly a tipper that was coming opposite lost control because of the ruff driving of the bullion van, and the tipper trying to pave way for the bullion van lost control and crush an innocent girl's leg, damaging both legs. Youths from nowhere came and start throwing stones into the bank, before police came and start shooting into the air."

Crime: Commercial taxi driver arrested for allegedly raping female passenger in Abia

Officers of the Abia state Police command have arrested a 36 year old commercial taxi driver, John Madu (pictured above) for allegedly raping a female passenger.

According to The Nation, the unidentified victim was returning from Lagos to Obehie community in Abia state where her parents reside in John's taxi when the incident happened. He reportedly dragged the lady out of his car in a lonely road and pounced on her.

Her pleas that she was a virgin fell on deaf ears as the suspect forced himself on her and left her on the road. Luck however ran out on him when the victim notified a team on police who were patrolling the area.

Speaking on his arrested, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ezekiel Udeviotu Onyeke said
“The girl whose name we can’t give out to the public boarded car to Owerri, Imo State where she picked another vehicle to Aba, Abia State and on getting to Aba, it was already late. But being determined to go home and meet her parents who are staying around Obehie, she boarded a cab from Flyover (a popular bus stop in Aba) to Obehie.

She was the only passenger inside the vehicle. The driver told the lady that he had ran out of fuel, but the lady told him not to stop his vehicle until they get to a place where they can sight people’s house.

While they were still driving, the driver asked the girl which church she attends. The lady told him and the driver told the lady that he is a member of the same church. That made the lady felt at home and while they were still driving, he asked the lady if she will marry him, but the girl politely told him that marriage are not contracted on the road.

That if he is serious with his proposal, he should come to see her people with his people as custom demands. It was at that point that the driver stopped on the road and the lady having sensed danger, opened the door and took to her heels. She was swiftly pursued by the driver who caught up with her and then forced himself on the lady even when she told him that he was a virgin and had vowed that it will be her husband that will break her virginity.

The man after raping her slept off and while he was sleeping, the lady for fear of being raped the second time, ran out of the car to hide a bush and when the police team Operation Safer Highway saw the car and was asking the driver why he parked there, the lady having noticed their presence told her story and the boy was arrested by the police team.”he said

Çilem Doğan, 28, flashed thumbs-up signs to the cameras as she was led into jail after allegedly killing 33-year-old Hasan Karabulut. She wore a shirt that read: “Dear past, thanks for all the lessons. Dear future, I am ready.”

The mother-of-one said that she had absolutely no regrets for what she had done. Police reports found he had abused her through the entire marriage, he held her prisoner and tried to force her to become a prostitute even when she was pregnant with his child, but no action was ever taken. She has now been charged with murder.

According to Doğan, Karabulut, when she awoke one morning with her husband telling her to pack her bags so he could take her to the city of Antalya to pimp her out as a prostitute she refused, and he attacked her.

She said:

“When I opposed, he beat me. He pushed me on the bed and the pistol under the pillow came into my mind. I grabbed it and shot him repeatedly. Then I took my daughter and left the home,”

The incident marked the end of a long pattern of abuse, Doğan claimed.

She wore a shirt that read: “Dear past, thanks for all the lessons. Dear future, I am ready.”

After she was arrested on July 9, Doğan told investigators she felt she did what she had to do.

“Will women always die? Let some men die too. I killed him for my honor,”

Doğan’s story soon spread around the web, and women in Turkey and beyond began tweeting in support of domestic violence survivors.

One man was left feeling disgruntled working long hours every day whilst his wife stayed home to raise his child. He was fed up of being the sole breadwinner, he worked hard for his money and it was rare that he got to spend much of it on himself.
